It was a surprisingly quiet day at Grillby's, seeing as in Snowdin no one had anything else to do. Most of the guards were on duty, and you hadn't even seen Sans anywhere.

Sans, as in Sans the Skeleton. He was a regular, and always found some sort of way to put a smile on the (M/S)'s face. His puns were to die for, especially the skeleton ones. Seeing the amount of time he spent on the stool in front of her made the two monsters close. In fact, (Y/N) saw him as a best friend.

'Best Friend... I'll tell him that when he gets back from... wherever he is.'
Suddenly, a tall, lanky figure kicked down the door.
Literally, it hit the wall, causing a dent to form.

(Y/n) jumped up in shock and confusion.
"U-Uhm, c-can I help you...?"
Wait a minute... This was-

"HELLO!!! I'M SORRY, BUT I'M NOT HERE TO ORDER ANYTHING. I AM LOOKING FOR MY BROTHER SANS, HAVE YOU SEEN HIM AROUND?"

'Oh my god, this is Papyrus. Sans wasn't lying when he said he was loud, Jeez...'
"Wait, you're Papyrus, right?-"

She thought of what sans told her about the tall skeleton's pride.
"The brave trainee of the Royal Guard?"

She could swear his face lit up like a light bulb.
"WHY YES, THAT'S ME! THE GREAT PAPYRUS!"
He looked down at the smaller girl in front of him.

"WHAT'S YOUR NAME, SMALL MONSTER?"

"W-wha- SMALL?!"

"WELL OF COURSE! YOU ARE VERY SMALL!"

"That's just because you're so tall!"

The two monsters branched out into conversation, forgetting all about the "quest" to look for Sans. Before they knew it, about 7 hours had gone by. If there was a sun, it would be nighttime.

Suddenly, a blue flash of light blinded (Y/n), and it revealed a panicked Sans, his right eye flickering a light blue color.

"(Y/n)! Have you seen-"

He paused, seeing his brother on a stool and (Y/n) sitting on the countertop, swinging her legs back and forth.

"Hello, Sans!"
She smiled and waved shyly at the small (yet still taller than her) skeleton.

"SANS, YOU LAZYBONES, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL DAY?! ME AND (Y/N) WERE WORRIED SICK!"

His eye sockets widened at the sight.
"I was visiting with an old pal of mine. I was looking for you! The last place I'd expect was Grilbs' place..."

Sans looked at his friend behind the counter, and she merely shrugged in response.
"You'll have to bring Paps around here more often Sans. He's a nice company and a pretty cool dude."

She emphasized her speech, and Papyrus blushed.
"YOU HEAR THAT SANS?! I'M A COOL DUDE!"

Sans chuckled.
"You bet you are bro. Hey, wait outside for me, I need to talk to (N/n) for a sec."

Papyrus nodded swiftly, then hugged (Y/n).
"DON'T TAKE LONG!"
He waved to his new friend with a smile, then ran out the door.

Before (Y/n) could open her mouth, Sans cut her off.
"Don't ask about the friend thing, you don't need to worry 'bout it. I just wanted to thank you."

She looked at him with a confused expression.
"Thank me? What for?"

"Well, first off, Grilbz called me the other day and told me you paid for my bill."

"It was literally 52,000 G sans, how do you even do that?" She said, laughing.
"Also, it came from my pockets, and it was my choice. You don't have to worry about paying me back."

He let out a sigh of relief.
"Good, cause you know I'm flat broke."

He walked closer to the girl, lowering his voice slightly. "I wanted to thank you for that and making Pap's day. Heck, maybe even his month."

She looked at the skeleton, confused.
"And how did I do that? I mean, he did seem happy."

Sans chuckled and shook his head.
"You make him feel special. Just keep being you, 'Kay (N/N)? You somehow make him... happy."

(Y/N) smiled brightly.
"Of course! He seems cool anyways."

"Indeed he is... Thanks again, it means the world to both of us that you're around. I don't know what I'd do without ya."
"Same here, Sans!" She smiled brightly.
He waved his hand and teleported out the door.

About 5 minutes later, Papyrus came running back in. He seemed nervous, and he was blushing slightly. (Somehow, (Y/N) didn't know that skeletons could blush)

"Oh! Papyrus! Did you leave something?"
He shook his head.

"(Y-Y/N)! WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO ON A...
D-DATE!...WITH ME!"

(Y/N)'s eyes and smile widened, and she held her face in her hands. "Awwww, Papyrus, Of course! Here, we can set up a time later today!"
She pulled a pen from her shirt pocket and wrote her number on a napkin.

She jumped up, using the counter as a support, and kissed the tall skeleton on the cheek(bone???).

Papyrus stood there, frozen for a moment, his whole face a bright orange.

"P-Papyrus? Are you okay?"
Once (Y/N) said that he snapped out of it and grabbed the napkin.

"UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!"
He was basically jumping, and with a dopey smile on his face, ran out the door of the small restaurant.

(Y/N) sighed.
'He's cute... so why not!'
She giggled in anticipation and started cleaning up so that she could close the bar.

"SANS!"
"Did it work Papyrus?"
"YES SANS IT WORKED!"
The skeleton grabbed his brother
and hugged him tightly.
"THANK YOU, SANS!"
He ran back to their house,
blushing and laughing madly.

'Ten points to Match-Maker sans.'
He thought to himself, smiling
at how happy his brother was.
