Chapter 1 - Learning from Context Clues (Answers will be at the end of chapter!)
1.)
Not everyone believes in it,
Not everyone finds it.
People say it's like magic.
That, that feeling in the pit of your stomach,
The empty feeling when you aren't near to them.
The feeling they leave,
Making you yearn for more.
You feel invincible,
Like you could face the world together,
And still be standing tall,
Never falling- nor failing.
2.)
It's the feeling that tells us we are alive.
It's a feeling that's neither good,
Nor bad.
It tells us that something happened here.
Or when we are young something is coming,
A new thing, or a difference in height.
It's a feeling that can tell us that we are broken,
Or on the right path to be healed.
3.)
They all come in different shapes, sizes, and colors.
They float,
They fly,
They shrink,
They die.
They can be dull,
Or shiny.
Or even have writing on them.
They can help people get better,
And they can hep make things festive.
They can even celebrate happy occasions.
Most of all they can make some dogs go crazy!
4.)
Her coat white,
Her hair black,
With her pale ears sticking up.
She stood still for a minute,
Her head held up high,
Ears pointed and listening.
Her white majestic horn swirled alive,
It lit up with a dark evergreen color,
And a bright but dark shade of purple.
Sparkles flew everywhere like fireworks,
On the fourth of July.
5.)
The snow is falling,
Covering the old white blanket.
The 30 days are coming up.
The sky will be filled with nothing but darkness.
Kids will skip school,
Parents will rest their minds an extra hour,
And forget about busy days in the office.
The water freezes more and the sun is setting,
As everyone rushes out to go skating.
6.)
It moved loud, but silently.
Quick, but slowly,
Gracefully yet sluggish,
Colorful yet gray.
I loved it,
But I was disgusted by it.
7.)
It's fur soft and silky,
It's eyes dark and beady,
Yet bright and full of kindness.
It gives a little squeak,
As it starts to wander towards me.
It leaps into my arms,
It's paws cold from Jack Frost.
