Still fast asleep she didn't hear the footsteps of someone walking across her bedroom to stand beside her bed. The visitor sat onto the bed and stroke her cheek with the back of his hand.

When she felt his touch, Minerva turned to lay on her side, one hand resting on her belly. The man took off his shoes and climbed onto the bed and laid himself on his side just behind Minerva with one hand resting upon her hand on her belly. Feeling someone lying behind her, her eyes flew open, and rapidly turned herself to the other side. Minerva came face to face with Albus, the last person she wants to see right now.

Albus bent over and captured her lips with his and started to kiss him passionately. It took her only a second to respond to his kiss. Just when one of his hands started to undo the first button of her robe Minerva pulled back from his kiss and his touch.

"What are you thinking you're doing?! You can certainly not kiss me like you want to make love to me when you're engaged to another woman! "Minerva said in anger while fighting back her tears.

"Darling, please, here me out. "Albus said calmly.

Minerva could only manage a small nod for him to continue.

"Please believe me that I didn't plan on marrying Patricia. Wait- I probably should explain to you from the beginning. You see, Patricia is one of my childhood friends. Our parents have always wanted us to marry each other. So, we promised to get married when we're older and still have no one in our lives. We have got engaged secretly right before I went to the Maldives. That trip was kind of a bachelor vacation for me. But it leads to a trip which has changed my whole life." He paused, lifting his hand to cup her cheek.

"That trip has changed my whole life, for I have found my one true love. Who is also carrying my child in here?" He said as his hand which was cupping her cheek before is now resting on Minerva's belly. "I told Patricia that I cannot marry her, because I've found the woman, I want to spend the rest of my life with. "

Tears were falling down Minerva's cheeks and Albus kissed them away.

"I love you, Albus. And I'm sorry that this is not what you have expected-"She was cut mid-sentence by Albus' lips on hers.

"I love you with all my heart, my dear. And this baby is proof of our love. I don't regret our countless - well, activities in the Maldives."

He said, making Minerva blushing.

Albus was about to capture Minerva's lips again when he felt their baby's kick against his palm. His eyes widened as he glanced at his hand which was still on his lover's belly. Minerva giggled upon seeing Albus' shocking face.

"She's quite active. I'm still getting used to the kicking." Minerva said with a soft smile on her lips.

"S-she? We're having a daughter?" Albus asked. His voice just above a whisper.

"Yes. You're going to be a proud daddy of a little girl."

"Thank you for making me the happiest wizard alive. I love you so much, my dear."

"No thank you needed, darling. It takes two to conceive a child, right?" Minerva winked at him, just before she captures his lips with hers Minerva whispered, "I love you too."

With that, the surprise baby-shower-dinner-party for two was forgotten.
