You glanced around the lecture hall, eyes landing on a sleeping, dark-haired male on the opposite side of the room. "Oh, he's at it again." You chuckled, cupping your face in your hands.

It wasn't as if you knew the guy, and it wasn't like he knew you either, but there were just some faces that stuck out in lecture halls.

His usually stern features definitely softened up as he dozed off with his head propped up on an elbow. Drool threatened to spill from his gaping mouth, and you tried so hard to stifle your laughter.

"Him again?" Your friend asked from beside you. Her eyes followed your own, only to land on the sleeping boy you stared at every lecture.

"What? He's cute." You grinned.

"Cute enough to punch?" She asked, reminding you of the black smudges across your knuckles.

"Man, you're so mean, you know that?" You pouted.

"But that's your biggest fear, isn't it?" She asked. "The only thing I can think of you doing to activate your soulmate mark would be socking them in the jaw."

"I-I'm not so short-tempered that I would do something like that to anyone." You tried to defend yourself.

Your friend chuckled and rested her head on your shoulder. "I'm just joking."

"Sometimes your jokes go too far." You pouted, returning your gaze to the male. Right when you spotted him again, you realized his green orbs were directed right at you. The watcher was being observed, and that fact alone made you feel embarrassed.

"There's a mixer tonight, (Name)." Your friend interrupted, snuggling up to you. "Let's go together."

You groaned. "Ughhh, you and those mixers. I swear, no decent guy ever attends one of those."

A short silence fell over her features before she uttered, "Sleeping Beauty's coming. I think his friend called him 'Iwa-chan'. You still don't want to go?"

You bit your lip as your eyebrows furrowed. Now this was certainly conflicting. "I-I'll go." You whispered shyly. This was your chance to get to know the boy you had been admiring from afar.

"Alright!" She shouted just as the class was dismissed. "We're meeting up at the nearby karaoke joint, so you'd better be there!"

After this was said, you began your journey home.

On the train, you realized that not many people were riding around 2pm. From what you could see, there were only a handful of passengers that were going to board the upcoming train. Once onboard, you debated taking a seat, but decided to stand instead.

The train took a sharp left turn, causing you to stumble a bit. "I can't wait to get home and relax." You sighed.

You stood in front of the karaoke bar nearest to the university, taking a deep breath before fully entering. "Room four... Room four..." You muttered, referring to the text your friend sent out. As you opened the door to karaoke room four, you eyed the woman who invited you. She was at the opposite end of the room singing her heart out. Laughing nervously, you uttered, "Oh man... she's drunk."

"(Name)~!" She squealed through the microphone. "Come in, come in~!"

You eyed the others around the room. They had already broken off into pairs and begun flirting—some couples were even leaving already.

Surprisingly enough, everyone seemed to have a partner tonight. Well, everyone except for you, of course.

As you closed the door, you felt as though someone was watching you. Glancing in the direction of the person's presence, your eyes landed on the male from your afternoon lecture.
