Sidharth ran to the pool and plunged in. At first he could not figure out where to search for her. Only the blue water of the pool was in front of his eyes. His heart was pounding like crazy until he got to see the fabric with floral designs that Shehnaaz put on in the morning. He gripped the piece of her clothes and pulled that . Soon he reached out to her hand. She was not stroking the water or trying to swim. She was unconscious and her body was drowning involuntarily . He grabbed her tightly in the lock of his arms and paddled upwards .
With the help of the hotel staffs Shehnaaz was finally out of the water . She was lying on the floor unconscious and gasping. The gasping was not helping her to breathe since her trachea was almost filled with water . Sidharth turned her head to the side so that water could come out from her mouth and nose. His hands were shaking. He was anxious up-to extremities.
Those who gathered after the boy was rescued, have now gathered again surrounding Shehnaaz . Sidharth shouted at them to move aside so that she could breathe conveniently . Then he started pumping on her stomach and chest that made her cough very hard and she ultimately vomitted out the water with each recurring pushes . She was still gasping due to lack of breath . Her lips were turning blue that clearly indicated the threateningly low level of oxygen concentration in her blood. She was fighting with death and badly needed the help of a ventilator. Sidharth tried to give her breath by mouth to mouth resuscitation . It's actually a process of pumping air to someone's lungs so that the person can again start respiration. The same is done by the ventilator , these machines help the patient to breathe even when the lungs are not functioning.
Everyone was terrified with this accident and they looked really tensed. Shehnaaz was still unconscious but she somehow stared breathing .
After a while she gained her consciousness . Opening her eyes , she stayed like that for a few moments. The curious crowd was silent, only Joey was crying. Shehnaaz tried to look at the source of the sound and attempted to get up from the floor. Sidharth took her up and carried towards the cafeteria . Shehnaaz was traumatized by this near death experience. She couldn't feel anything, whatever was going on around her. She didn't look at his face who was carrying her or made her drink water . Teesta too went behind Sidharth with Joey and Moon in her arms.Everyone present at the poolside area were drenched in rain. They were discussing about how she tried to save a child from drowning in the pool while she herself can't swim . This was such an irresponsible and foolish act of her. Sidharth made her sit on a chair and asked for a glass of hot milk to the waiter. He turned back at Teesta _' Can you please hold my children for another two minutes?'
_' Yes yes. I'm here. Aapko kuch aur help chahiye to bataiye please. ' she replied.
Joey was trying to reach Shehnaaz. He was crying.
_' Shehnaaz , Shehnaaz breathe . Are you okay? Baby? Are you okay? ' Sidharth was repeatedly asking her about her current condition . He fed her a glass of milk and asked the staff if they could help to take the babies up-to their rooms.* * *
A doctor came in an hour to check Shehnaaz, if she needed some more medical helps. The hotel manager called him . Sidharth was afraid because she was continuously suffering from breathing troubles and breathlessness. The doctor checked her thoroughly, spending almost fifteen minutes. Then he said
_' Allergies hui hain inko. Her trachea is super sensitive . Pool ka paani andar jane se allergies and hence swelling of trachea . Ye medicine se allergies kam hoga, waqt lagega, at least five to six hours. '
_' Six hours continuously breathing troubles shehna hoga? ' Sidharth questions .
_' Nehi, medicine ka effect start hoga ek ghante main. Dheere dheere normalize ho jayega breathing. Otherwise koi problems nehi hain. It's a very severe case of drowning . She is partially traumatized. She needs rest. Ek tranquilizer bhi de rha hun. Neend se uthne ka baad wo bilkul normal ho jayegi. Don't worry. '
Sidharth sighed in relief. Things could go worse than this.
_' Thanks doctor. Shehnaaz , wait for ten minutes. Main medicine leke ataa hun.' saying Sidharth was about to leave the room but the doctor stopped him
_' You can stay by her. I'll give this prescription to the service department of the hotel . Kuch hi der main mil jayega medicine. ' he said.
After the doctor left Sidharth sat beside her on the bed. He had a serious face. Shehnaaz was already scared of him , she was praying to God so that he considers it to be an accident and doesn't scold her for creating such a mess. She thought it was time for her to confront him.
_' Mujhpe gussa ho? ' she asked softly. So soft that he couldn't hear her voice.
_' Kya ?' He responded.
_' I'm sorry Sidharth. I should have thought about the consequences before taking any step. '
_' You know what, your stupidity is beyond my words , main bata bhi nehi sakta. This is your responsibility towards your children? What if I was late for just another ten seconds? Can you even imagine what could happen ? Keysi maa ho tum? Ek baar bhi nehi socha Jo aur Moon ka kya hoga? 'She was silent to his loud, angry tounge- lashings . He tried to control his anger looking at her guilt-ridden face .
Shehnaaz holded his left arm and touched her forehead to his shoulder. She was weeping bitterly.
Sidharth allowed her to cry . It was needed for her to cry out her fears , trauma and vulnerabilities. Not letting out one's torment can lead to her nervous breakdown.
_' Main kya karti? Koi bhi help karne nehi aya. Wo dub rha tha uddhar, paani main , paani se mera phobia hain . Mujhe uss bachche ko kisi bhi tarah bachana hi thaa . I felt like my own child is......... ' She broke into tears. Sidharth patted on her head to pacify her.
_' Okay okay, I understood. Now stop crying. Take some rest now. ' He gently pushed her to the pillow. The babies were hungry, so he started preparing their food.Joey wanted to be fed by his mom.
_' Sidharth, give him to me. ' Shehnaaz said stretching her arms towards her baby boy . She was enjoying cuddles with Joey and when Sidharth completed preparing the milk she fed him by her hand. She was behaving quite normally . Sidharth felt relieved seeing that. Though he was angry on her but in his mind he couldn't stop praising her for a moment . She saved a boy putting herself in danger. She could have died by drowning but she didn't even think twice for herself . To him she was not any less than a superhero.* * *
Shehnaaz woke up after sleeping almost seven hours without a break. Sidharth made sure her sleep was not interrupted. In the meantime he completed all the chores that Shehnaaz was supposed to do. He cleaned the bottles of the babies , washed their little clothes , fed them again and packed all their belongings in the trolley bag. They had to leave Jodhpur on the next morning. Netra's wedding was in the next two days.
_' Haaye! Sabkuch ho geya? ' Shehnaaz gave a shocking reaction after she woke up after nine o'clock . She was feeling absolutely fine.
_' Ha I think so. But tum check kar lena once again. '
_' Aww! Tum kitne sweet ho ! I just love you so much! ' Shehnaaz said pouting cutely. Sidharth smiled at her. It surprised him how his little efforts made her so happy. He wondered how she's so nice and beautiful by her heart .
_' Are you feeling hungry now? Want something sweet? ' he asked showing her a packet of chocolate cookies.
Shehnaaz nodded a no. She wanted a long and warm hug from him. She spread her arms saying _' I want you only. '
When he hugged her she behaved like a love seeking little cat . She kissed on every part of his face and and curled up to seek some more caresses from him.
_' Baby, can I break the hug? '
_' No. Be like this until I say . '
_' Okay, I have no hurry. ' He answered and kissed on her cheek.
