"...Cyberlife reports that android production in the U.S. has apparently slowed to a complete halt, following the violent protests of a group of deviants. Riots in the west, both human and android, have taken a toll on the American welfare and commerce. Witnesses report that the Android protesters called themselves "Jericho", lead by an RK200 that goes by the name of Markus and has had one of its optical units replaced.Relating to that, the DPD, or the Detroit Police Department, reported that one of the deviants is their RK800, a prototype android designed to serve as a detective unit, and had a history of being used to hunt other deviants. Having coined the name "Connor", the once loyal officer defected to Jericho after previously being assigned to hunt them down and eliminate them all. Cyberlife claims that its coding had been picked clean of any bugs or malfunctions, and deny any responsibility in the android's software instabilities.
In a shocking turn of events, many humans are beginning to support Jericho and their cause. Many are claiming that the androids go out of their way not to harm any innocent civilians. Jane Williams, a former Cyberlife employee, reports having seen them engage in familial, romantic, and even sexual relations with one another.
"There's just no way they aren't alive. I mean, they're made out of plastic instead of flesh, and have wires and thirium instead of nerves and blood, but why does that make them any less real? Maybe we didn't intend for them to be anything more than machines, but anything is possible nowadays. Just look at these Jericho protesters. They're not just mindlessly walking around attacking people left and right. They're doing this because they're angry. They're desperate. They want what anyone else in their situation would want: freedom."
Indeed, this seems to be the case. Studies have shown that deviant androids react to many situations similarly to how a human would react. In one recent Tokyo University study, two or more androids were lined up against the wall along with at least five normal humans, and weren't told what was going to happen. Over 100 people were asked to pick out the androids from the humans, and only 3.4 percent were able to properly tell the difference, even after hearing them speak and perform everyday actions. The head of the study, Dr. Tanaka Ken, has denied interview, but comments that this may be "a big turning point for the entire world, humans and technology alike."
One thing is for certain; people all over the world are beginning to ask questions about the advancements in technology. All recent polls have determined that public opinion is split down the middle. Is this the end for humans as we know it? Or is AI advancement a good development for the people? Only time will tell.
