"Was it really necessary to blindfold me?" Miku asked.

"You asked to come with us," Mayu argued back. "We have you knowing the route to and from our base. We have no reason to trust you."

"Forgive us," Lapis apologized, "We're just taking the necessary precautions."

Miku just sighed and kept walking. She hadn't even gotten the time to put her shoes back on, just straight to the point. Though she supposed that in this instance, it was simply a case of curiosity killing the cat.

After Oliver had intervened on her behalf, the girl that had attacked her with a hatchet looked at her and suddenly was completely befuddled. Miku didn't understand what she was suddenly so strung up about, until the axe wielding maniac had pointed at her face. Miku touched a finger to her lips, and noticed that she was bleeding.

"You're a..."

"Crap!"

Miku had panicked a little in that moment. She was always careful about any injuries she ever sustained, because the color of her blood would most certainly give her away. She glanced all around her, her hands over her mouth, hoping that no one was nearby to see her. She leaned over the railing and spotted a few children at the playground tossing a toy ball back and forth, their parents supervising a few meters away. One of them glanced in her direction, and she jumped back in a frenzy. This wasn't good. She was too exposed.

It occurred to her that anyone who saw Oliver would also realize that he's an android, since his bandages were starting to leak a little. She ushered everyone inside, much to their confusion.

Once they were safely indoors, she locked up and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Okay, now that that's taken care of..."

She turned to the three of them.

"Who in God's name are you people?!"

It turned out that the blonde girl was Oliver's "sister" of sorts. Adopted, she claimed. Made sense now that she thought about it. Her name was Mayu, and the blue one was her girlfriend, Aoki Lapis.

"Nice to meet you." She had said brightly. "And sorry about earlier. We kind of mistook you for a human, so we thought you had ill intentions."

"It's fine." Miku assured. "I thought you were here to kill him or something."

Oliver stepped in and began explaining what had happened, including parts of the story that Miku hadn't been there for. Apparently, he had been chasing around his pet bird, James, and ended up getting lost somewhere near the store Miku had found him in front of. A couple of protesters were marching the streets, when one of them bumped into him and sent him to the ground. He scraped up his hands, and one of them noticed that his blood ran blue, so they dragged him off to "make an example".

Miku asked how Lapis and Mayu knew where Oliver had gone, and Lapis claimed that James had flown back to them in a frenzy, leading them to him. They followed him until they made it to the store, but couldn't find him there, so they had to keep looking until they spotted Miku taking him back. According to Lapis, she had to hold Mayu back to prevent her from taking an axe to Miku's head.

After that, Oliver explained what had happened after he went to the department store, where Miku had saved him from the protesters and brought him to her home.

Mayu shifted her stance uncomfortably, her gaze glued to her shoes. Oliver gave his sister a confused tug on the sleeve, and without warning she collapsed to her knees.
