I sat in the alleyway, tears running down my face while my body was shaking violently. There was no way that it wasn't her ring, she had showed it to me many times.
I stood up, picking the plastic bag and my school bag up with me. the tears ceased and I began to walk out of the alleyway.
People stared at my tear-stained face as I made my way down the street with a straight face. It was almost as though I couldn't smile, cry, or feel any emotions at all.
The only emotion I could feel was anger. Anger towards my mom for leaving, anger towards whoever harmed her, anger towards my father, and many other things that I couldn't yet think of.
Once I got on a less busy street, I checked the bag to see if everything was still there. It was all there, but the plastic bag had begun to leak. Tiny droplets of blood trailed behind me as I walked.
With a small sigh, I mindlessly put the plastic bag into my school bag and continued my walk. It was around 10:00 when I made my way to my destination, the police station.
I continued to get strange looks and I walked up the steps and entered the door. Once I got in, I was met with a pair of bloodshot eyes. Mr. Aizawa gave me a shocked look, while I remained calm.
"Mr. Aizawa, what are you doing here?" I asked, a hint of emotion in my voice, "I just finished my patrol, what are you doing here, it's late," he asked, I didn't answer him and just threw my bag on the counter.
His eyes widened as he looked at the red streak that stained the desk. The room went silent and every single officer looked at my school bag, anticipating what was in it.
I sighed and began to slowly unzip it. When I started to pull out the bag, the tension in the air got thick. This time, I didn't shake, cry, or even flinch, I remained perfectly calm as I held it in my hand.
I dumped its contents onto the counter with a bang. The knife and the ring clattered and onto the desk, making a loud noise and a big mess. Tiny splatters of blood covered the spot benefit the items.
The receptionist began to shake as I slowly leaned over the counter so she could hear me better. The scent of blood became noticeable in the small room, and almost everyone looked like they were going to become sick.
The lady's face went pale as I opened my mouth, "c-can I help you?" she asked. "I'm here to report a murder," I answered, she jotted something down with a pen and picked up the clipboard right before running to another room.
"(l/n), what the hell is going on?" Mr. Aizawa asked me while putting a hand on my shoulder. "I'd tell you if I knew, but to be perfectly honest with you, I don't have a hint in the slightest," I said in a monotone voice, letting the buzz of the lights fill the silence.
"Can you at least tell me who you think it is?" he asked, I let out a sigh and waited for a few moments, I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell him. I decided too and turned my head to face him this time.
For the first time since this conversation started, my new lifeless eyes made contact with his tired ones. His breath hitched as he took a good look at his once happy student in a new light.
"My mom," I answered, turning my head back to the front and staring back down at the ring. An officer walked in and put the stuff into two separate bags with a gloved hand.
He then pulled me away from the counter and to a different room. The room was dimly lit and had two chairs. Once we both sat down, he began to ask me various questions.
"Where exactly did you find the bag?"
"In an alleyway beside a butchery and bakery,"
"How do you know it's not the butcher knife?"
