FINN is in the kitchen, cooking dinner. MILO, one of FINN's foster dads, is lying on the couch watching him, suspicious of his strange behaviour but too weak to get up and confront him about it.
MILO groans as he sits up and turns his body towards FINN, leaning against the back of the couch for support.
MILO: Is everything alright? Do you want to talk about it? Or... are you thinking about... them.
MILO starts muttering angrily, loud enough for the audience to hear a few sentences.
MILO: Idiots. Abusive, idiots. What made them think it was ok to abuse their child? And for seven years?! Sickening...
FINN turns and smiles at MILO, exhausted.
FINN: Nah. Just... my head's somewhere else right now. Do you need anything? I wish I could help more, but... the things we can afford are so limited...
MILO turns away. His voice drops and aches with sadness and he whispered to the sky through the window.
MILO: (whispering) Why now? Why come to take me away from the world so soon?
