FINN is standing next to his other foster dad, DYLAN, talking about MILO and the audience can hear the desperation and sadness in both of their voices.
DYLAN: It's gonna be ok bud. He'll get through this. He has to...
DYLAN's voice cracks at the end of his sentence and FINN looks away, unable to hold eye-contact without losing control and crying.
FINN: I know DY, I know. I'll see you later Dad.
DYLAN looks up at the use of the word 'dad' with an expression of affection on his face.
DYLAN smiles and gives FINN a hug, walking off the stage and waving a goodbye over his shoulder.
FINN: There is something I need to figure out.
PRINCIPAL WELLS enters from the back of the stage, and slowly walking across to the other end until suddenly stopping short as he hears FINNS next words.
FINN: Every time he hits me, why are the blows so carefully placed in spots that hurt less than what people would take great care to usually aim for?
FINN: Why does MATEO have such a haunted expression when he leaves? Why does he look like he regrets his actions towards me?
PRINCIPAL WELLS strides towards FINN.
PRINCIPAL WELLS: Find MATEO and come to my office. Immediately.
