The royal ball, 8:30pm
"Your majesty, it is our pleasure to have been invited to such a significant and delightful event." The black headed girl curtsied elegantly to king Enji who chuckled slightly at her words.
"Oh please, just call me Enji. Your father and I are friends after all, just like how both of our kingdoms get so well along!" The king laughed as another feminine voice had giggled along.
Two hands suddenly but gently held the princess's shoulders from behind, grabbing her attention."That's right! My beautiful daughter is probably the most suitable woman to be wedded with your son!" There stood a man with black locks who looked someone in their 50s. He was dressed in an elegant suit, and judging by it's expensive features it was definitely made for a superior class. This man was indeed the king of an allied kingdom of Ellesmere.
"Father!" Exclaimed Momo as she beamed acknowledging the sudden appearance of her beloved father.
"Haha speaking of which, where is he? We'd love to see him." The other king questioned wanting to meet his possibly son in law eagerly. "Oh I'm beyond doubt that Shoto is near, welcoming his guests on this glorious day." Enji simply replied as they continued their conversation.
That was until a certain silver haired man had joined the three. "Ah Yukio! I was looking for you." The king said as Yukio bowed. "I present myself as Yukio, I am the lieutenant of the demon extermination unit also known as the Demon Slayer Corp of Ellesmere kingdom. Pleased to meet you, your majesty, your highness."
Momo and his father both smiled at the young man before the red haired king dragged him away. "I hope you won't mind, I have some small things to discuss with Yukio." He said. "Oh no not at all! Take your time while me and my daughter participate our fullest at this ball." Hearing what Momo's father said, Enji gave a small grin and nodded before walking off with Yukio. The moment they got out of other people's sight, the old man's face darkened instantly. That smile of his was just like a mask, putting the citizens at ease while hiding his true nature and self.
"I am aware of what you want to discuss, your majesty." Yukio spoke. "Good. But just to make things clear, that female thief is certainly still around this area. Whatever skill she possesses, she still managed to sneak real valuable pearls into her cell, despite the guards who had removed all the belongings she was carrying with her."
"Yet Shoto still released her and hid her in the castle for nearly a week..." Yukio added.
"That damn brat, I taught him better than this, he should have never developed sympathy towards that criminal." The king continued.
"Anyways, my point is that the exact location of that thief isn't clear, but we still have to be on guard. She could be anywhere, not to mention even in the ballroom full of riches! We must be prepared for the worst case of scenario. But my most important goal here is to capture her once and for all without our guests acknowledging any of this. We can't let that woman ruin this kingdom's reputation!" The king exclaimed.
Yukio slightly bowed ready to be in service "Yes, your majesty, I am aware. I will make sure to supervise this place along the guards. I will notify you if there happens to be any suspicious activity." "Good." With that king began making his way back to the main section of the ballroom... until Yukio suddenly spoke up.
"Offending his highness is unquestionably out of my intentions." Enji stopped in his tracks "But your majesty, don't you think Shoto is getting crowned perhaps a bit too early? With all of his naive actions recently, I have been worried for my prince whether or not he will handle his future tasks conscientiously."
