Chapter 3
My sight was blurred but I could faintly make out two heads hovering my body. Realizing I was on the floor I felt a burning sensation on my right cheek.
I gently tried to stand up with the help of Leon. I get a glimpse of my face on the mirror, a noticeable bright red handprint marking at the source of the stinging pain.
"Luna, you can't just keep acting like this" Luke snaps clearly frustrated. He grabs my shoulders and nudged me to look at him, giving me a clear view of his crystal orbs.
I feel his gaze at me with the facial expression I've been all too familiar with ever since, disappointment.
I've been a burden to all of them. To my brothers, the only family I have left that didn't abandon me.
"I would if I could Luke, I'm so sick of letting you all carry my burdens. I'm sick of all the voices that I hear. I'm sick of being a freak" His gaze soften at my outburst. "Luna you know it isn't like that" Leon answered as Luke quickly cut him off
"No, she's right Leon. She's not only a burden to us but to herself as well" Luke snapped as he took out something on his back pocket. "When was the last time you drank your medicine?" He was holding the empty bottle of my medications.
Leon was shocked. It was silent for a while. It seemed I couldn't find the right words to say. I've been meaning to work for my medicine by myself. I've been trying to occasionally mention it to my siblings but there was always things stopping me. Considered that me and my other triplets are going to college soon. "A week or two" I muttered. "Why didn't you tell us Lu?" Now Leon was the one with all the questions. "I just thought that I could earn by myself and not rely on you guys" I stuttered everything out slowly.Luke sighed and just walked out the room. And once again, I could only be a burden to myself and my brothers. I sign and looked at my remaining brother on the room apologetically. He looked at me, full of pity on his eyes. "You know you don't need to think of yourself as a burden to us Lu, we're the only ones we have now. You're our sister and we want to help you with this" he said softly. "I know Leon, I'm sorry"
That night the only thing I could ever think of was how much of a burden I am to everyone I love. The following day my brother Luther bought me my medicine after just receiving his paycheck.
