The rest of the week, Corbyn's place lives up to all of our expectations and more. Every day, the massive backyard crawls with crowds of drunk, attractive young people. Daniel recognizes a lot of them from high school, but we both agree that even Corbyn probably doesn't know half of the attendees.

When we're not hanging out at the rager outside, I spend time with the rest of the group. I jetski on the lake with Jensen, Rory, and Jonah. I help Corbyn, Harlow, and Zach barbecue. I have deep talks with Jack while he smokes in a corner away from the noise.

And when it comes to Daniel and I, let's just say we've had plenty of time to get to know each other... intimately.

It's the second to last day here, so Daniel and I just chill on lounge chairs by the pool, watching some frat guys make idiots out of themselves while playing chicken fights in the water.

"So, this is what Portland's all about," I say looking out to the lake. It glimmers with the few rays of sun peeking out from the cloudy skies.

"Partly cloudy days and parties on the lake? It doesn't get better than this," Daniel cracks a smile. I can tell that even with the painful memories, he feels safe here.

"It's been a good week," I say. "I'm glad we all came."

Daniel reaches over to place his hand on mine. "Everyone else is cool and all, but I'm extra happy you're here with me."

I send him an air kiss, too lazy to lean over for a real one. Just as I lean back again, I'm interrupted by the unmistakable sound of an irritated Harlow. There goes my peace and quiet for the day.

"Have you guys seen Corbyn?" she growls.

"Good morning to you, too, Harlow," Daniel jokes. I hit his arm, warning him not tease Harlow when she's upset. No one wants to see her angrier.

"Maybe he's hiding out in the house still? Yesterday, he seemed kinda annoyed having so many people over all week," I suggest.

"Maybe. I can't find him out here. I'm gonna keep looking," she replies.

"Why do you need to find him so badly?" I stop Harlow from rushing off.

She shoots Daniel an irritated look. Then, she leans over to my ear.

"I overheard the other guys teasing him about flirting with some girl yesterday," Harlow whispers.

"Wha-?!" I sputter before Harlow smacks my arm to shush me. "Harlow! Jeez..."

"Ugh, sorry," she half-heartedly apologizes. "Anyway, I just... need to make sure he's behaving."

"I'm sure it's nothing," I reassure her.

"Yeah, you're probably right," Harlow whines, obviously not feeling reassured. "Whatever, he can find me later. I'm getting a drink."

She walks away briskly, possibly more annoyed than before.

"What was that about?" Daniel chuckles.

"Just Harlow being Harlow," I reply vaguely.

"Come onnn," Daniel teases. "What happened to 'no more secrets?'"

"But it's not even my secret, it's Harlow's," I reason.

Daniel pulls out his best puppy dog face, his blue eyes bulging even bigger at me. I roll my eyes, defeated. I'd be stupid to even try resisting Daniel Seavey's adorable face.

"Pleaseee?" he bats his eyelashes at me.

"Ugh, fine. But it's your fault if she murders me," I say.
