epilogue.

ONE YEAR LATER...

The summer sun beats down as we walk down 6th Avenue, popsicles in hand. Tate and Rory strut on either side of me.

"Remind me why we're outside today," Rory complains. I just chuckle. I've missed her attitude.

"Come on, it's the last day of summer," Tate tries to convince her.

"It's summer inside, too. And there's AC," Rory mutters back.

"I'm so happy I finally have both my girls here," I beam.

"Gosh, you two are so cute. I wish my sisters were here," Tate coos.

My phone buzzes with a new Snapchat from Jack. It's a picture of him and the four guys chilling at a rooftop pool with the caption Days like this >>

I smile, missing the guys—even Daniel, a little bit. Jack is the only one I still talk to frequently, but I have a soft spot for all of them. We always had such a fun time together.

I gather Tate & Rory to send a selfie back.

"How's Jack been doing?" Rory asks.

"He's good. Apparently, Daniel's got them all into making music now," I tell them.

Tate gasps dramatically. "You're actually saying his name?"

"Wow, great progress, Asp," Rory teases.

"I can say his name!" I laugh. "Daniel, Daniel, Daniel."

"I'm so proud," Rory jokes.

"It's been over a year. I'm totally over him. No hard feelings," I express. Funny enough, I actually mean it.

"Exactly. Besides, we're gonna be too busy showing this one around," Tate nods to Rory.

"Me? I'm the one you're gonna need to keep up with," she retorts.

"Whatever, we can have fun on our own," I lean into Tate, laughing.

This is the life. Strutting down the New York streets with my two favorite girls. Licking popsicles on a hot, summer day. Moving on from the negativity of the past.

I can honestly say I've never been happier in my entire life.
