"It's the least I can do," I tried to convince myself as I waited for a response.

I hadn't meant to loose my composure in such a ... -such a beastly fashion. Evangeline had laid herself bare to my mercy and I took advantage of that. Well, maybe that's an overstatement. I can't really say she was putting herself all out there, I mean, it was a lustful kiss. I don't think she could feel too heartbroken about it, right? I'd barely known her a day, that's not even possible.

I eyed the smartphone on my bedside table. I had literally sent that text a few seconds ago, I can't expect an immediate reply. It's not like she doesn't have better things to do, I'm sure she has responsibilities at home or-

I nearly jumped out of my skin when the phone chimed. A message. And suddenly I was nervous.

I sighed heavily and unlocked the screen, half relived and half disappointed that it was only Fabian.

-Why is it that you and Eve disappeared at the same time? Not to mention Cassie. Is there some kind of lady cult meeting you had to attend?

I smiled a little. Fabian was beginning to prove that he was not only cool, but he was cheeky too.

Actually, we're a coven. I'm -sorry we had to keep this from you. We just really clicked. Persephone is in on it too, you'd be surprised at how cruel she can be, she's the iron queen. Just like Persephone of Tartarus.

I was pretty pleased with that one. A little intellectual joke. I loved mythology when I was younger...? If I can even say that. I'm not super old, like mom, but I'm not exactly sixteen either. I can already imagine mom ripping my limbs off and beating me with them. She's just like the ladies in the sitcoms, youth was so important to them. I kinda want to be a little older, then I could look a little more mature. It's not cool being the flat chested, baby faced, secret vampire chick in the back of the class. I was grateful for my decent height, but who do I have to threaten for a bigger cup size?! Jeez.

A second chime interrupted my internal conflict. And yet again it wasn't from whom I was expecting.

"That's the wonderful process in which hormones in your brain swell your pelvis with blood. In other words, you were just lusting!" I thought to myself as I pondered what to reply, if at all.

I took the offer into consideration, then shook my head, scoffing.

My eyes fell on the screen again, "I would be an idiot to see her again..."

I tried to hold in my laugh to the best of my ability. I could already imagine Fabian dressed in a poor excuse for drag and trying to fit in with a group of girls. He would certainly be the life of the party, Fabian is the Becky.

But then Becky would laugh and take them of anyway.

I frowned and laughed a little to myself. What the hell had I just seen? The thought was brushed aside and I typed "Yeah, sure" before pressing send. And to my utter horror:
