Dinner was eaten without much conversation and I was sent directly to my room afterwards. I can't help, but feel terrible for what I did. Once night came along I tried going to sleep, but I couldn't. I was still getting nightmares.

I was in my old house in the kitchen and my step-father grabbed me by my arm. I winced in pain as he continued to pull on my arm.

"Stop it you're hurting me!" I yelled.

He threw me on the ground and I tried to crawl away, but he grabbed my legs and dragged me into my room. I knew I was going to be in a lot of pain. He grabbed me and threw me so I hit the wall face first. He grabbed his belt and came towards me.

"Please." I cried. "Don't do it again."

"You have to learn your lesson, you bitch!" He spat as he kicked me in the stomach.

He then began to hit my back with his belt like a whip. I yelled out in pain, which only made him hit me harder. I began to throw up blood all over the white floor and despite my cries and pleas, he continued to hit me.

"Stop yelling!" He growled.

After several beatings, he left the kitchen and I just laid there on the bloody floor with tears in my eyes. I could feel blood dripping down my back.

I woke up startled with beads of sweat across my brow. My step-father would often beat me, especially when mom wasn't around. It was clear to me that I wasn't going to fall asleep anytime soon, so I grabbed a robe and walked out my room. I walked around until I saw a light, I opened the door to find a fireplace.

"What are you doing up at this hour?"

That voice. I turned to find King Arthur in a chair reading a book. Behind him were several shelves of books. Ah, this must be the library.

"I couldn't sleep, your majesty." I said.

"Why not?" He asked.

"Nightmare." I replied.

He got up and placed the book on a small table nearby. He got up and placed the book on a small table nearby. He walked towards me and as soon as he reached the door, he turned back towards me.

"Come with me." He beckoned.

We walked out of the library and into my room. I sat down on my bed next to my pillows, while King Arthur sat on the other side next to me. I felt relieved that he was not angry at me for what occurred earlier today.

"Lay down." He said in a soft voice. "I'm going to sing to you a lullaby that my mother would always sing to me when I was a child."

Once I was settled in he began. "Do not worry about tomorrow. Think of not what you borrowed.

"Lay down and close your gentle eyes; and dream and dream of sweet little things for you and me. For as they years go by, I shall still be by your side. So lay your head on your warm bed and do not cry. Do not worry, the dangers you fear will not touch you. I am here for you and will always be here. You will remain safe and sound for as long as you're with me."

It was sweet and it was helping since I was dosing off. However I felt him get up, so I hastily opening my eyes as grabbed his hand and he looked at me confused.

"Stay with me." I pleaded."I am afraid I'll have another nightmare."

He glanced at the door for a moment, before looking back at me. King Arthur reluctantly nodded and he laid down next to me. I sighed in relief as he pulled the covers over his body. He turned his head towards me and wore a charming smile.

"There's nothing to fear." He assured me.

For some reason I feel safe with him by my side. I've never felt this way before. What was I feeling? My thoughts were soon pushed to the back of my head as I fell asleep beside him.

I woke up feeling a hand around my waist and I looked to see I was laying on a bare chest. Quite startled, I looked up to see King Arthur. Oh that's right, I asked him to stay.

"Your majesty." I whispered.

He woke up smiling."Did it help? The lullaby I mean."

I saw a tint of pink on his cheeks as he spoke, which made me smile. He looks cute like that. He has no interest in you like that anyways. He is merely trying to help you and be kind, since you are the chosen one.

"Yes, thank you very much." I said.

"If I may what was your nightmare about?" He asked.

"My nightmare was-" I started, but I was cut off by another voice.

The door opened and Merlin came in with his usual robes. Oh no. Merlin didn't seem to see King Arthur as he wore his usual smile. Okay, just play along and hopefully Merlin doesn't come any closer.

"Good morrow Rebecca." He said with a booming voice.

"Uh, good morrow Merlin." I replied, trying to remain calm.

Merlin then approached my bedside and he saw King Arthur. His eyes widened and his jaw practically dropped. However, he soon regained his composure as a grin appeared on his face. I don't like that face on bit.

"I know she looks like Genevieve, but did you really?"

Genevieve? Why does that name seem familiar? It seems like King Arthur knows her. King Arthur quickly got out of bed. He was wearing pants, however he had no shirt and i must say that he had a toned body.

"No we didn't. It's not what you think." King Arthur argued.

"Yes, I just had a nightmare and his majesty helped me to fall back asleep." I added. "That's all."

Merlin cracked a smile. "Very well then. Are you going to train her today or will the knights take over?"

"Let me train her today as well." King Arthur said, hastily. "Then I'll let the Lancelot, Percival, and Gawain take over."

"Very well." Merlin said with a bow. "I'll inform them at once."

With that he left and King Arthur turned to me. He wore a small smile as he spoke to me. "I shall see you at the dining hall."

With that he quickly left my room, closing the door behind him. I quickly got changed and made my way to the dining hall. Genevieve, Merlin said I looked like Genevieve, but who is she?
