It was a Friday morning, and their party had gone on early in the morning so they were all very tired. Most people had left while there was still a couple of people hanging around. both of their families were already at the dining table, talking and laughing. The two heard their parents from downstairs and they woke up. Just like any other morning, after a quick 'Good morning' from each other, Jaiden opened up the birdcage and James hugged his dogs. They both shuffled down the steps, yawning and rubbing their eyes.
"Good morning, lovebirds!" Jaiden's mom melodiously said while getting them each a plate of breakfast.
For the next few days, they all spent time together, having fun. On the last night, they all went to a final dinner together at the Cheesecake Factory. As they pulled up, Jaiden wished it was the same one as their first date but she knew that the memories would still be there.
They all enjoyed a nice dinner and they were all reminiscing of the past right when a new waiter came to serve them drinks. Jaiden looked up, it was their waiter from their first date. The same one, with dark brown hair and a bit of an attitude. He came up smiling and continued to do his routine. Jaiden shook her head and interrupted him.
"Wait, why are you here? Aren't you--" she asked.
"Just have this." he interrupted her and put down a glass of champagne and the bottle. It was the same one from the limousine ride. She was staring at the bottle when James got down from his seat. Jax walked past him with a little birdcage with Ari in it. Jaiden looked at them quizzically, wondering what was happening. Jax opened the cage and Ari flew out landing on her arm. She saw that he had a little note on a string around his neck. She took it and opened it. In big letters it read:
"Will You Marry Me?"
She looked up, and James was kneeling there, with a ring open and Ari on his shoulder. She looked at him, completely surprised. She got up, starting to cry.
"Eh, Nah." she said. She turned around and started to walk away. James almost crumbled, how could he have been so stupid to ask her? Things had been going so well, had he misread things? Was it too ear--
"I'm just kidding! Of course!!!" she yelled hugging him. He got up and smiled, he finally remembered how he said the same thing to her, a year back. They kissed and he put the ring on her finger.
"Did he ask you?" Jaiden asked her dad.
"As soon as we got here, he asked for my permission." he laughed as he told her.
Later, as they got into bed, she snuggled up to him.
"I love you." she whispered. He kissed the top of her head and whispered back
"I love you more."
