Your heart was shattered. What had you done wrong? But that's exactly it, you hadn't done anything. This was Kol's fault, yet..you couldn't help but think that it was yours. We're you not pretty enough? Not slim enough? Not curvy enough? Not interesting?
Earlier that day.
"Hey Kol i'll be out shopping with Rebekah for a few hours." you called as you stepped down the stairs carefully. "Ok love, be safe. I love you." He didn't glance up from his phone as he said this, though you thought nothing of it as you walked out the door and to the mall to meet Rebekah.
———————————-
"Ooh don't you look gorgeous." Rebekah said as she had her eyes wide open in awe as she saw you in the dress. It was a short knee length black dress, just what Kol likes. "Rebekah are you sure? I don't think i look good." You were always insecure about your body, but Kol always reassured you that you were beautiful even with all your faults. "Of course you look great! You always do. And anyways Kol will love you with or without a fancy dress." You smiled as you looked at yourself in the mirror. Wow, you did look great.________________
Rebekah dropped you off at the door of your small home, as she had business to attend to. Probably stopping Nik from killing Marcel. You hopped out the car and made your way to the front door. You were so excited to surprise Kol later tonight that you didn't even think to pay attention to anything around you as you opened the door."Hey babe, i just got back from-" Yoir closed your mouth at the sight before you. Kol was sat on the couch, Davina straddling his lap as they kissed. Kol looked at you and his eyes opened wide. "Babe, i-" you gave him a look of anger. "Don't even talk Kol. I knew you and Davina were close but i never thought you would cheat." You let out a humorless laugh. "Pack your bags Kol, your moving out. Oh! And we're over too." You stomped over to Davina and dragged her off of Kol by the hair. She struggled and screamed, but your vamp strength out numbered her struggles. You picked her up by the throat and pushed her against the wall. "I thought you were a friend, guess i was wrong." Your veins appeared as you plunged your fangs into her neck, the anger was overwhelming. All you could think about was draining the life out of her. Kol ya led you away. "What the hell Y/N!" You glanced at him. "You have no room to talk! You cheated. Not me!"
Kol looked hurt, but you didn't care. As the saying goes "Once a cheater, always a cheater." You walked to your room, Kol stayed behind as he healed Davina. Ugh disgusting. You grabbed his clothes and shoved them into a couple bags before walking back into the living room and throwing the bags out the door. "Get out!" Kol looked at you. "Now, Y/N let me explain-" You pushes him into the wall as you pounded into his chest. "Why?" was all you said before running out crying.
That's the last people saw of you. Your heart was shattered, you were unstable, mentally. You couldn't think straight. Millions of negative thoughts clouded your head about your relationship.
Kol didn't love you. He only used you, to get close to your friends in Mystic Falls. To get the last white oak stake.
But despite him using you, in the process he had developed feelings for you. Unintentional feelings. After he got the stake, he did what he needed to, to get you to push him away. He had to do this, Klaus had ordered him to get the stake. Even if it risked your feelings.
Kol knee if he didn't do what was said he would be daggered for disobeying. So he followed through, led Davina on. Lured her to the house. And started kissing her once he heard your footsteps. He knew it would break your heart if he cheated. But he did it anyways.
Out of fear. The Kol Mikaelson was scared. Scared of being put in a box again. Missing out on years of his life. He didn't want that. But was it worth losing you?
Kol would never be sure.
