Finnick and I have been planning our wedding ever since he proposed to me back on the beach those many days ago, but it's like we're starting completely from scratch. We planned for a small event on the beach, mainly just our families and a few special guests.
Now things couldn't have been more different. Now we're in an underground concrete district with a wedding that's supposed to have about three hundred people. Finnick and I decided to leave the bulk of the planning to Plutarch and we just have the final say.
"Annie, you can come in with an entourage and do a short dance sequence," Plutarch says excitedly.
Right now we're at a meeting to plan the wedding. There's a group of people here who I guess are in charge of this whole rebellion and want to see how the propo part of it is going. They never say anything. They just watch the scene before them and whisper to each other. Finnick and I are just here because it's our wedding.
"Dancing isn't really my thing," I tell Plutarch slowly.
"Okay no matter. We'll just have you walk in as people dance around you," Plutarch suggests.
"No," Coin objects. "It's too extravagant. I already gave you the extra food and supplies for decorations."
Plutarch throws his hands in the air and Finnick rolls his eyes at me with a slight smirk. These two have been at it since we first started these planning meetings this week.
"It needs to look good on the cameras too!" Plutarch complains.
Coin immediately argues back and Finnick turns to me with a smile. He's been happier lately and I have too. The wedding is the perfect thing to focus our energy on.
"So what do you think of what we have so far?" Finnick asks me quietly as they argue.
"I like it," I tell him contently. "The decorations are looking good. Even though we won't be on the beach it's still quite beautiful. I still wish we could have those salmon cups."
Finnick sighs. "I know. I'm not a big fan of beef. Don't worry though. When we get back to Four we can have another party with real food."
I nod my head with a smile. "Good idea."
I laugh a bit as Finnick leans forward and leaves a light kiss on the tip of my nose. Then I hear my name and I look up.
"Now all we have to do is find something for Annie to wear," Plutarch says. I guess he and Coin sorted out the rest of the details.
Coin opens her mouth but Plutarch quickly interrupts. "You better not suggest she just wear these drab, gray clothes. It's a festive event! They need to look happy!"
Coin sighs and Katniss pipes up. I almost forgot she was there. Everyone else towers over her and she's not exactly an active participant in the conversations. Half the time she looks completely lost in her world.
I feel bad for Katniss. I heard about what happened to Peeta. I still can't believe it. That the Capitol could make him forget she loves her. I couldn't imagine if the same thing happened to me and Finnick. It just makes me more grateful that we're both fine. Or as fine as we can be.
"I can take her to Twelve. She's about my size and I have some extra dresses there," Katniss offers.
"Excellent! Looks like everything is set to go then!" Plutarch exclaims.
Coin looks like she's given up arguing and accepts this is the best she'll get. "Okay you and Annie will leave tomorrow then."
So the next day around noon I'm in Thirteen's hangar getting ready to board a hovercraft. Katniss is already inside along with Boggs and her prep team.
