It's crazy to think that someone like me, a normal teenage girl, could be caught up in a situation like this.

Well, I guess I'm not that normal. I mean, I am Tony Stark's daughter. And I'm dating Spider-Man. And technically I was a superhero for a while.

But normal teenage girls make sacrifices for their boyfriends, right? They want them to be happy, no matter what.

But 99% of the time, it's a metaphor. This is that 1 percent.

Here I was, up at the top of some random corporate building, with a gun pointed at my head.

"Peter, it's okay," I said gently.

"No! Just—just wait, we can figure something else out!" he begged.

"There's no way I'm getting out of this, Peter," I insisted. "I'd feel so much better if I knew you were safe."

"I'm so sorry, Camella," he choked through his tears. "I wasn't thinking right all those times I went out. I just didn't know what to do."

"It's not your fault." I smiled sadly, swallowing the lump forming in my throat. "I know you just wanted to protect people. I did, too. That's why I was so upset, and I'm sorry for taking it out on you."

I cleared my throat. "But, Peter, this may be my last chance to protect someone. To protect you. I promise they'll never hurt you again."

As my tears started falling, the man grabbed my arm.

"Well, that was touching," he said with no expression. He nodded at the door, then looked at the two men holding Peter. "Now get him out of here. I can't deal with her if he's screaming at me."
