Let me help you (Dabi x Deku)

Part 26

Dabis pov

This is it, my first morning patrol with Deku. I was excited... until I found out that it meant getting up at the ass crack of dawn for training. I grumbled as Izuku gleefully led me to the familiar building, he is way too happy to be awake this early. 

We get inside and head for one of the various practice rooms for our daily training sessions. After about an hour of getting my ass handed to me Izuku says its time to get ready. 

We walked to the locker rooms where our costumes are but Izuku was acting weird, all giggly and impatient, was he really that excited to go on patrol? 

I look in my locker for my outfit but its not there, instead its replaced by a silver briefcase. I doublecheck that I have the right locker before picking up the case and looking at Izuku, who was watching me intently. 

"Whats this about?" I ask curiously, Izuku smiles brightly. 

"Open it," is all he says, I shrug and open the shiny box. 

For a second I thought he had just moved my outfit, but then I noticed that my jacket looked different. Instead of an open chested jacket it was zipped shut, something my old one wasn't even capable of doing. 

I picked it up and examined it, thankfully the cuffs on the arms were unchanged however the same could not be said for back of the jacket, the ripped up back was still there of course but it wasn't fully a part of the jacket anymore, instead, it hung from the waist of the jacket, it was then I noticed the added color on the almost cape, blue columns made to look like flames trailed up from the base. 

I set the modified jacket down to examine the rest of the case's contents, a pair of black fireproof pants neatly folded inside next to a new pair of combat boots and a silver mask that was suspiciously similar to Izuku's. 

I notice a note taped to the mask and read it, 'Dear Dabi, here is your new hero costume as requested, we hope it is to your liking.' 

I stare at the note for a second before slowly looking up at Izuku who looked like he was about to burst from excitement. 

"You got me a hero costume?" I asked in astonishment. 

"Surprise! Do you like it?" he asked excitedly, I nodded slowly and looked down at the costume. 

"I love it." I said as I continued to examine it. Izuku giggled and hugged me before springing back to his own locker. 

"Come on let's get changed! We still got a patrol to go on don't we?" he said as he pulled his own costume out, I nodded and got changed into my new outfit.  

Hey guys! I am so sorry for the long wait, I have gone through a lot recently from dentists who only make problems worse to my best feline friend passing away to so much more. But I survived! and I'm so excited to finnally continue writing this, I know this chapter is short but it felt like a good stoping point for what I've got planned next.
