In this realm there are 2 types of souls, "lost" souls and "living" souls.
Lost souls are mortal souls who have finished their time in the mortal realm. Lost souls can sometimes become "wandering" souls, which means that they are able to move and travel in the soul realm; however, this is extremely dangerous and rare as it requires a lot of soul energy and can lead to the soul running into danger easily. Lost souls who died before their time are weaker, and generate less energy than a normal lost soul. This means they are more prone to "shattering", when a soul dies due to a lack of soul energy. There is no reviving a soul after it shatters.
Living souls are souls who are still existing in the mortal realm. It must be noted that all living creatures have a soul, however those from a sentient creature create more energy and can have more awareness on what is happening around them in the soul realm, once becoming a lost soul.
Due to souls being the power of this realm, areas like hospitals and graveyards are often highly contested zones with the 3 main races of the world due to the large amount of lost souls. Other contested areas include places where natural disasters have occurred, war zones, and areas filled with illness.
