Ram could see her hesitating to let her emotions out, he must not know her too well but he was getting there. He held her arms tightly and pulled her closer to his body "I like you and I know you like me, maybe a little bit. Why don't we say that we are in a relationship?"
"But I get to choose the restaurants from now on?" she asked, tears beaming on her eyes. Ram was anxious, his hold had gotten stronger around her arms but he did not expect this reply from her. He laughed out loud and pulled her for a hug.
They broke the hug and smiled. Ram kept his hold on her arms and they both swung right and left, letting their body move at their own accordance - call it their shyness to being this close with each other or to officially being a couple.
"Sooo---"Ram started "Now that we are in a relationship, what should we do?" he hinted.
"All of a sudden?" Priya hesitated, "This is new to me, I don't know"
Ram acted as if like he was thinking deeply" How about -- another hug?" he asked with pleading eyes. Priya laughed and pulled him for the hug forcefully. They swung again hugging each other tight with smiles on their faces "I don't know when I'll get to hold you again" Ram said.
"I'll make sure you get to hold me plenty, don't worry" Priya muffled over his chest.
After their pretty long hug, they stopped at a small coffee shop. As Priya was seated at the far end hiding from the curious people around, she saw Ram bringing a cake along with their coffee.
"Why did you get a cake?" Priya asked astonished looking at the huge, colourful cake.
"We should celebrate the first day of our relationship" he grinned.
He stared at the cake and plugged the two red ornament from the cake. He held both in his hand and offered one to Priya. "Let's keep one each to celebrate this day"
Priya took the ornament and looked at Ram, slightly teary. Ram was such an adorable person, so pure, so kind. When she focused on Ram, he was already staring at her with a strange expression. "What?" she asked.
"Why don't you wear it?" he questioned. Before she could ask what he was asking about he added "Don't you like the colour of the lipstick I got you?"
Priya bit her lower lip, not knowing what to answer "Um- It's very nice. Bright and pretty." She hesitated "But I figured it'd look better on me in spring. I mean it doesn't quite suit with the colour of the clothes I wear this time of the year"
"We are in a relationship now, we are drinking coffee together, eating this cake together. Don't you think it's already spring for us?" he smiled stating this. Priya smirked and started digging into the cake while Ram stared at Priya, wondering if he had done some good deeds his last life. He could not believe he was in a relationship with this broken but beautiful lady.
Later that night, both Priya and Ram ended up keeping the ornament next to the shoes they'd saved from their meeting in Cuba.
