Chapter - 17

She marched back inside the office without acknowledging the employees who greeted her on the way. She was angry but she was more hurt. She somehow knew that Ram was aware of his relocation and she had to speak with him about it, but before that she had an important work to do.

Once she got inside her cabin, she ordered Neha to call the Director to her office immediately.

He entered the office with a smile on his face. "Please take the seat" Priya manged with a fake smile.

"I thought you were scheduled to go on a business trip" he stated, keeping the smile still intact.

Priya ignored his question "This has never happened before. Thanks to you I am experiencing all sort of things"

He was confused "What is the issue, Ma'am?"

"Are you really asking because you don't know?" she eyed him and when she got no response from the person before her, she smiled the fake smile again and crossed one leg over the other. Sitting elegantly she answered "While I was absent from work, you appointed an employee without my permission and back stabbed me"

"Wow. How come you are using such an expression? I am perplexed"

"Well, I am trying to talk with you on your level so that you can quickly understand what I am trying to say. I have never seen such an unexpected and personal appointment. So, I need to understand what you did or how you did this?"

He quirked his eyebrow and launched into a blatant lie "It was the HR"

Priya smiled at him "Do you this I am a fool? Do you think I called you here without getting everything checked" she raised her voice an octave or two higher than her normal voice. This was the voice everyone were afraid of.

He sighed, dropping his innocent act he said "Ms. Sharma...Let's be honest with each other"

"That's what I wanted. Now, tell me"

"Do you think I did this on my own? You do know that the Khaneja's are behind me right."

She huffed a laugh "Now, I know why I find you on the wrong track all the time. I am trying to talk to you about IVY and you are bringing Khaneja's into this. You are so lost" she sarcastically said.

"I came all the way back from the airport, cancelled my emergency trip just to let you know that this is it. It's over now, for you. I am giving you a last change, if you do anything like this again you will not believe what I'll be doing to you" she gritted her teeth.

"Is that a threat? You think the Khaneja's will watch quietly?"

"Do you remember the hotel opening day in Pune? How I blurred out my feelings in front of the media? -- That was to let you all know that I will be fighting against them from now on. Now, it's your choice... If you want to be their puppet or a respectable Director of this hotel"

She did not wait for him to speak. She stood out from the couch and walked back to her chair "You may see yourself out"

When Ram was informed about Priya's return in the office, he did not think twice and marched towards her cabin determined to speak with her. His team mates voice ran through his mind:

"Miss Sharma is back in the office" one person shouted with enthusiasm in his voice.

"We could see the determination in her eyes that she was going to stop Ram's transfers" another person cheered.

"She cut her business trip short for Ram"

He stood in front of the door and huffed in nervousness. I have made up my mind and I cannot let her down. He said to himself and knocked announcing his presence.
