Jungkook sighed as he put his back to the wall of the building around the corner from the entrance to the cafeteria. He didn't know if any of them would come after him, but he wasn't taking any chances. He let his head fall back against the wall and closed his eyes. He rubbed his face and muttered, "I can't believe that JHope-hyung took a picture."
"Picture of what?"
Jungkook froze and his heart leaped in his chest as his eyes shot open. He blinked and sagged against the wall, this time in relief. "Jin, you scared the shit out of me!"
Jin grinned, "That much is obvious. What has you more nervous than you zodiac? What picture? And who is JHope-hyung?"
Should I tell my brother? "I—"
"You've heard of him by the name Hobi, Jinnie. He's one of my friends who graduated with me." The voice came from behind Jin, who turned and smiled at the newcomer. Namjoon hoisted his bag over his shoulder and glanced around. "What are you doing on the side of the building still? You left before I did. Oh, hey JK."
"I was headed in, and saw JK hot tailing it out and slink over here muttering about a picture." He looked at his brother again, who was now blushing and staring at Namjoon, who had draped his arm over Jin's shoulder. "Care to explain, little brother?"
"You are friends with JHope-hyung?" He asked faintly.
"Yeah, we started school at the same time. We work at the same company too, just different divisions. He's dance; I'm music. Why?"
"Jimin-hyung's best friend?"
"Oh, you know Min?"
Jin nudged Namjoon with an elbow. "Tae is JK's best friend."
Namjoon glanced at Jin. The look they shared when they made eye contact spoke of their connection. Crush? Oh, yes. Which one? Good question. Ah.
Namjoon chuckled. "Heh, heh. What a small world." He glanced at his watch. "Hey, we don't have long to eat before you have to get to your class, Jinnie." He looked at Jungkook, "Are you going to eat? We can sit with you."
The color drained from Jungkook's face. There is no way I am stepping foot in that building again. If they go in, they are going to see JHope-hyung and want sit with him, and then there will be four people teasing Jimin and me. My brother and Tae teaming up against me I can handle but RM-hyung and JHope-hyung added to the mix? And with Jimin-hyung right there? Oh hell no. I have to go anywhere but here. Stick with the same lie, JK. "N-no. I finished. I-I am going to rehearsal." He slid sideways and around his brother and Namjoon, bowing slightly. "I will see you later, hyungs."
"But I thought-" Jin started, but trailed off as Jungkook took off across campus without looking back, as though he really were late for rehearsal. He scratched his head and watched a little worried, "I wonder what is up with him."
"What do you mean?"
"He doesn't have rehearsal until tomorrow night. He is part of the community actors group and they are doing their full rehearsals then. Today, he was supposed to come home and we were going to experiment in the kitchen with a new dish. You know how we both like to cook."
"Ooo! Can I stay for dinner? I love your cooking."
"You were going to anyway." Jin laughed.
"True." Namjoon grinned at Jin and bumped his forehead against Jin's ear affectionately squeezing his shoulder. "Come on, let's go get food."
They started into the cafeteria. Jin paused at the door, "Maybe he has a rehearsal for a class assignment?"
"That's possible. He is still doing classwork, isn't he? He's not in the showcase, right?" Namjoon opened the door for Jin and waited for him to go before, the cool air rushing past them a stark difference from the warm temperature.
