Jimin smoothed the imaginary wrinkles and fidgeted with the hem of his shirt as he glanced around at the people standing in small groups talking and waiting for the doors to open to the community theatre center. He wasn't really nervous, but at the same time, he was anxious. He flipped the cuff of his shirt away from his watch and checked the time yet again. Finally, he felt a tap on his shoulder and he turned with a sigh of relief, "Tae."
"You left this in the car." Taehyung smiled as Jimin's eyes shot to the slim white box in his hands before coloring and taking it. "What is the matter with you? It is not like you are the one on the stage tonight."
"Nothing, I just---I don't know." Jimin glanced at the lines that started forming as the doors were propped open by the house crew, welcoming the visitors and inviting them to take their seats, handing out programs as they entered the building. He bit his lip, and glanced around not really recognizing or seeing anyone one person, more just taking in the crowd as a whole. It's kind of surprising but it looks like there are quite a few people here for the performance. That is good.
Taehyung smirked. He knew exactly why Jimin was nervous. It had been two weeks since his audition at the showcase. Two weeks since he had been offered a training position at the same company as JHope. Two weeks since he decided to fully accept Jungkook as something more than just a friend. It had also been two weeks since Jimin had really been able to see the sophomore for more than a snatched ten minutes at lunch before Jungkook had to run off for another class, study session or rehearsal. Taehyung nudged his brother playfully, "Mmmhmm."
"Oh shut up, Tae. Don't tease me now." Jimin sighed as they fell in line with the others who were moving toward the doors. He had to endure the past two weeks' teasing from his brother and his best friend, both of whom had showed him the video JHope had taken of Jungkook and him in the dressing room after the showcase. He had expected it though, considering it was his best friend and his brother. Surprisingly though, Jimin had figured that Taehyung would have at least given him the "don't hurt my best friend" lecture, but he had not. Rather, in a moment of seriousness between teasings, both he and JHope had told him it was about time he found someone that was willing to "not put up with his bullshit." He had rolled his eyes at them, but even he had to admit they were right. He and Jungkook had not had a lot of time together these past couple of weeks, but they had been in contact. He also understood. He was a performer himself. Relationships had to work around performance scheduling, not the other way around.
"Tell me again why you are here with me and not your girlfriend?" Jimin took a program when it was offered, flashing a smile to the young man who indicated which door to enter the auditorium to find his seat the easiest.
"I told JK I would be here if I could, so I was coming anyway. My girlfriend was supposed to come with me tonight. We were going to make it a date night, something just nice and simple, but she woke up this morning feeling really puny. She has been sick most of the day. I checked on her after I finished my last final this morning, and she was curled on the sofa of her apartment with a cold cloth over her face to help the headache. I called her again before I went to pick you up, and I must have woken her up. She said that she was feeling a little better though."
Jimin glanced at his brother and smirked, "Maybe she is pregnant? You were awfully glad to see her when she got back from the Philippines."
"Ha ha. Shut up. No, she thinks its finals stress that just got to her on top of everything else. Yesterday she had to take one of her hardest finals and if she does not pass, she has to retake the class because she had to miss that week of school when she went home. Did I tell you why she had to make the trip?"
"I have no idea, really. That was about the time that I was still working on my showcase presentation, so if you told me, I might have never paid attention. Hey, here are the seats." Jimin slid into the row counting over and pulled the seat down. Several others were still milling around, talking and finding their seats, so they were able to get into theirs with relative ease. They were not in the center, nor near the stage, but the seats were pretty decent. He put the box across his knees and fiddled with the ribbon while glancing around at the rest of the people.
