I watch Camille drive out of out driveway. Her car dashes off in less than a minute. I head inside the house and close the main door. Today, has been a long day.
"There she is!" My mom squealed with joy. Urgh. I love her but she can be very annoying. I groan in reply. "So how was my baby girl's day?" Gosh, she's wierd.
"It was terrible." I lied a little. My mom says "Well, why ar-" But her voice just fades away from my brain. I don't feel like listening to her. All the words that are coming out of her mouth aren't really processing through my brain. I wouldn't say that having Daniel as my partner is the part that's creating my bad day right? I finally get a chance to hang out with him and maybe I can make him like me. No! I shake my head. What am I thinking? Your crazy, Julie. Daniel will never like you? He's popular and he's cool. Your just a loser and nobody knows you. My conscience is not really motivating me right now. But what if-what if, one day Daniel will like me. I'll be the happiesr girl in the world.
It's going to be per- "Julie, darling? Are you okay?" I snap back into reality. I was in the middle of a dillemma and my mom keeps ruining it. Grrr.
"I'm fine mom." I say.
"Did you even hear what I said?" She put both of her hands on her hips with a stern face.
I shake my head like an inoccent baby. "I said, why are you having a terrible day?" She asks worriedly. Should I tell her. No. That's a bad idea. She's going to get all up in my business. Mom grabs my hand and sits me down on our leather couth.
"Are you bullied? Cus, if you are I wil call a lawyer right now and sue that girl or boy. Honey, say something." I can't. Why should I tell her? Come on, Julie. Toughen, up. Don't be a wimp. I decide to trust my instincts.
"Well, today at school. Our class got new seats and now I sit right beside Daniel." Her eyes widen and she gasps. I put my hand up to stop her from interrupting. "and now he's my-my-my-my partner for a project and I don't know what to do." There I said it, mom. Happy now?
"Oh my goodness! This is so exciting!" Oh,boy. "How are you going to work together though?"
"That's what I just said," I sigh as I sit on the couch and hug my knees.
"Oh! We should invite him over! It'll be perfect! I'll set up candles and -" I knew this was going to happen.
"No! Mom, this isn't a dateand no that would be a bad idea." I scoffed.
"Well, what do you want me to do?" She folds her arms and she has that wierd look on her face.
"I don't know." Why am I so worried about this? I'm suppose to be happy and excited.
Ring! Ring! Ring! "I'll go get it!" Mom runs to the phone, as usual.
She clears her throat and presses the "talk" button on the phone.
"Helllo?" Her eyes pops open. What's up with her? "Yes, this is she. Julie? Ofcourse, she's right here" Before she hands me the phone I say
"Who's this?"
She jumps up and down in excitement. I have the wierdest mom ever. "It's Daniel" I instantly grab the phone and run upstairs to my room. Wait, Daniel has my home number? How?
"Hello?" I try to stay calm.
"Julie?" His voice sounds deep and manly-even his voice sounds hot.
"Yeah?"
"About the project, I planned a schedule for you to come over at my house and we could work on it together." Whoa, hold up! COME OVER HIS HOUSE?!?! Suddenly, my heart beats fast and I can hear it beating through my ears.
"Julie?" Hes says.
"Oh sorry. Yeah, so when do I com-co-co-come over?" Stop stuttering,Julie, Your such an idiot.
"What about Tuesday?" That's 2 days from now.
I gulp. "Sure. What's your adress?" I finally get to se where Daniel lives!!! I feel so lucky for some reason.
"Harrison Woods Drive, and my house number is 8972." I grab a sticky note and pen from my laptop desk and write the adress down.
"Okay, I got it." I inform him.
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay, bye."
"Wait!"
"Yeah?"
"Don't forget it's at 5:30" He clarifies.
"Don't worry, I won't"
