"So what does my adorable kohai want with me?"
He sounded so pleased as he said kohai that Hinata couldn't help but want to call him senpai.
"We actually want to know why you don't come back into school Noya senpai, we were told you were one of the first members of the Research club. Why did you quit?"
Noya laughed emptily as he looked off into the distance.
"Why you ask? Well, a friend of mine got hurt because of me and now... Let's say I think they probably hate me..."
Hinata felt sad when he heard those words before he lunged forward to hug his senpai. After resting his small body against Noya who was surprised at how comfortable he was, Hinata held on as he spoke.
"Asahi doesn't hate you!"
...
"You know?"
The pain in his voice made Hinata hug him tighter as he nodded into his chest.
"Sorry..."
"It's ok, what's done is done." his voice cracked a little as Noya subconsciously cuddled Hinata back and his chest heaved slightly as he covered his face in Hinata's fluffy hair. The angel cuddled the harpy as he felt warm tears touch the back of his neck and for a few minutes, they sat there in silence.
"I-If Asahi forgave me..." Noya hiccuped as he held on tight, "th-then I would come back but...that probably won't happen."
Hinata nuzzled his nose against Noya's neck to sooth him before patting his back gently.
"He will forgive you because I know Asahi cares about you, it's just taking him too long to actually go through with it."
Noya laughed as the embrace loosened and Noya's face was flushed pink from crying. Hinata wiped his senpai's cheek and Noya bumped their foreheads together.
"You're adorable, thanks Shouyou."
Hinata blushed a little with happiness as he heard his first name and let out a small giggle. They got up and looked over at Kageyama who was sipping his drink. They had totally forgotten that he was there and that fact seemed ridiculously funny to them as they started to laugh uncontrollably.
Wiping his tears of laughter, Noya showed then to the door and gave Hinata another hug.
"It's late so get home before it's too dark."
The ginger nodded returning the hug and Kageyama nodded at Noya who couldn't help but snort a little.
"I'll see you again tomorrow Noya senpai!"
He waved as he turned the corner and smiled as he made his way home with Kageyama walking next to him.
The next day seemed to pass too slowly and by the time the last bell rang, Hinata impatiently shrieked with joy as he grabbed his things and ran down the corridor.
He really liked his senpai and something inside him wanted to make sure he was okay.
Without realizing it, Hinata had ran passed the senior corridor as Asahi walked put, yelling at Kageyama to it hurry up if he wants to come along.
Kageyama saw Asahi and slowed down a little as he passed the third year.
"If you care, shouldn't you want to stay by his side?"
Asahi's eyes widened and Kageyama nodded before quickening his speed to catch up with Hinata.
"Noya senpai!!!" The ginger flung himself into the harpy's arms.
"Shouyou!!!!"
They immediately started to chatter as Kageyama sat on the sofa, this time watching TV rather than sipping his drink in silence.
The two boys giggle at the reminder of what happened the day before continuing to chatter.
"So why did you guys join the research club?"
"I joined because him." Kageyama replied casually over his shoulder.
Hinata laughed awkwardly, "and I was running away from him."
"Huh? So you guys are chill now?"
"No? Wait what?" Hinata contraded as his mind clashed. Kageyama had frozen to hear his response.
"Hmmm... I don't know."
I don't hate him?
The ginger had a look of confusion as he once again had to try and figure out who Kageyama was to him and Kageyama was also in the same predicament.
Noya just nodded along as the doorbell rang. Getting up to opn the door, Noya smiled as outside, were Suga and Daichi, with food.
"We figured you would be here after you got the address from Suga." Daichi said as he put down his coat and took off his shoes.
"so we brought food for a catch up party!" Suga finished and immediately, the party was rolling. Tsukishima and Yamaguchi also came halfway through and Hinata ended up dog piling with the harpy and pixie the whole party, causing massive fits of laughter.
A couple hours of laugher and dumb recounts of silly memories, Suga saw the time and bowed as he got up to leave. Daichi said he would drop him home and also left.
Yamaguchi thanked Noya endlessly for the party as Tsukishima and him also left before the last train would leave and the last ones there were Kageyama and Hinata.
As the angel and harpy gave each other hugs, Kageyama was looking down the street and casually commented.
"Hey I see Asahi walking in circles over there."
Noya fell silent as he looked in the direction Kageyama pointed. It was too dark to see even with his harpy eyes.
"How did you know?"
Hinata then spoke up, "Oh yeah, we forgot to mention but Kageyama is a non human too."
"really? What breed?"
"a demon."
....
"what?"
Completely baffled on how to feel, Noya just smiled confidently as kept hugging Hinata.
"well if Hinata trusts him then I do too."
His face dropped again as he looked at Asahi still fretting on whether to come over it not.
"I guess he doesn't want to see me then..."
"Don't be silly senpai! He came all the way here!"
Noya nodded as he saw his anxious friend try to come closer but then choose to walk further back but then change his mind again.
"You should meet his efforts half way."
