(Hetalia Denmark x reader; Human AU) (A/N: I made this using play.aidungon.io so yeah, half of this is written by a robot and it's really dumb and ooc)
—————————- You wake up in the bed of your best friend, Mathias, you were sleeping in his arms. He's still asleep and you can feel him snoring loudly beside me.
"What time is it?"you ask, waking him up a bit more so he doesn't fall back to sleep again.
"It's morning." He answers. "How long you been awake?"
"Just a few minutes" you said mentally questioning why you were in his bed in the first place.
"Well you were out for a while, but now that we're all together again, you should be able to get back into your own head a little better." That didn't really sound like the energetic Mathias you knew.
You say "What's wrong Mathias?" Mathias begins to cry and hold on to you tighter.
You hug him. "Sshh, it's alright." You pat him on the back, but he doesn't stop crying. "Please tell me what's wrong?" "I...I..." he stutters. "Just say it, you're scaring me. Are you alright?" "I...just....don't want you to get hurt." "What do you mean? What happened?" "Remember that night we drank that wine and went to see that ghost story?
You say "Yes..." "I....I thought I saw you kiss that girl on the cheek." Your heart sinks as you stare at him in disbelief. "Are you serious?" "Yes. Please don't get mad, but I thought you really liked her. I mean, you still talk with her sometimes and you laugh and smile with her when you think nobody's watching."
You didn't know why he was so concerned about that, you really hadn't thought about your behavior around the girl. You already had your eyes on someone and it wasn't the girl. She was nice, but in the way that a sister is nice to a brother, or a daughter is nice to a father. "Well I didn't like her, I didn't like her at all." "I'm sorry." He looks up at you with watery eyes. "Why didn't you tell me?
You say "I didn't think you would care that much about my friendship with her" He gives you a half smile. "I would have cared even if I didn't like her." You're not really sure how to take that, but in any case the subject is changed. He goes on to say he's really glad you're his friend and he feels safer with you around. "I don't want you to get hurt again." "It's alright, I'm fine." You rub his back to reassure him, but it's clear that he's still worried about you. He starts to go back to sleep and you start to do the same when... "I love you." The words fall from his mouth and land on your chest. "What?" you ask. He repeats himself and you're at a loss of how to react. It isn't that you didn't like the idea, it's just you weren't expecting it. "I love you too."
