CHAPTER 4: "PINK BUBBLE GUM, ICE CREAM"

GENERAL P.O.V. 

Viti Levu is a beautiful island I could feel the ocean wind blowing in my hair and the bright sun on my skin. We had rented a silver convertible for the trip, so as we drove to our resort Pye put the hood down and I relaxed in the passenger' s seat. " When are we supposed to meet up with your friends?" Jay asked. 

"Tonight at 8 o' clock for dinner at the resort restaurant, they are staying in the same hotel as we are. So we had some down time." Pye was mentally tired already. Pye didn't sleep a wink last night, thinking that she would be killed by Jay' s hands today after she told her the truth, and now Pye was regretting it, since Jay took it better than she thought...even if she had no plans of really giving this boy a chance. "I' m alive!" Pye yelled to the wind and they both laughed. 

"It' s there!" Jay said with a bright smile on her face. The place was gorgeous, really paradise. It was one of those resorts that are not a building but separate bungalows set apart from each other for a more private stay but it still had a lot of common areas and restaurants. The bungalow they were staying at was beach front, had two suites and a Jacuzzi. Jay parked and an attendant walked up to our car. 

"Good morning, my name is Hyuk and I will be the person in charge of meeting your request and accommodations during your stay. Miss Madsen, Miss Rosette this way please"He made a movement with his hands for them to follow him. They were just about to get their suitcases out off the back seat when two tall men dressed in uniforms took them out for them. Pye looked at Jay and smiled and Hyuk turned back to say " Follow Me Please" .

PYE' S P.O.V. 

I was admiring the view. Hyuk, the attendant, was so good looking and cute. Untaken Pye would have definitely taken him for some cake. Unfortunately I' m taken by my Hak Yeon. I needed a break from Jay' s presence so when so I told her I was tired, needed some rest and went to my suite. I got out my cellphone and video called Hak Yeon. 

[Hi sweetheart!] 

[We are already at the hotel suite.] 

[That is good, we are here as well, but is it okay to video call right now. Where is Jayla?]

[I just heard her leave, I guess she went to see the hotel.] 

[Leo is out wondering around as well.]

[The plan must go on... ] 

We spoke for hours and he texted Leo to give him a heads up, that Jay was also roaming about.

JAY' S P.O.V. 

As soon as everything was settled, Pye went to sleep leaving me alone. I knew she was just trying to get some time alone so I just let her be. I decided to walk around the resort I was told there was a cafe somewhere. When I found it I walked around looking for a book to read, I found some manga that I had not read yet. There were some couches outside in a lovely garden patio, that' s where I sat, there was only one other person outside with me.

It looked to be a guy, but I could not make out his feature because he was sitting kind of hidden by a potted palm. I started to read, page after page, but I kept feeling someone staring at me. Suddenly a gust of air blew away the book marker I was using. It landed near the feet of the only other person sitting outside with me. When I was about to get up and get it, he stood up. The first thing I notice was his height, 182-183 maybe. OMG! He was tall, then a quick scan of him said handsome. Even if I don' t date I still appreciate every form of art created on this earth.  He picked up the bookmark and walked over to me. What a shoulder span! I whispered to myself...Get a hold of yourself Jay, he is almost here! I sat up straight and placed a smile on my face as he handed me my bookmark, " I guess this belongs to you." 

That voice, that voice...that voice. Why am I noticing so much about him? " Thank you!" 

I looked up into his face and was stricken. Get a hold of yourself Jay! Yelled my interior voice again but before I could say something else a waiter came to give me the Ice Americano I ordered and the guy left without another word. Two more hours passed and I just couldn't get his face out of my mind enough to concentrate on reading my manga, so I headed to pay for my drink and to leave. 

When I got to the bar, the waiter told me the gentleman that was talking to me a few hours ago had paid for my drink. He paid for my drink...why did he pay for my drink? When I got back to the suite, Pye was already a buzz back at our bungalow getting ready for our dinner date, it was almost 6 o' clock and we had 2 hours left to get ready. I wasn't about to be in a rush. "Jay where were you? Start getting ready. What do I wear? What are you going to wear?"

Question after question flew at me and I didn't know which to answer first. Me? I was reading at a cafe when I got side tracked by a walking piece of art. Should I tell Pye about that guy? No of course not, she would go ballistic asking questions. He looked like an anime character that walked right out of the manga I was reading. Tall, dark and handsome...very handsome and that voice!!! Come on Jay put your head on straight!!! How did I come to this situation of being be spelled by a stranger and going on a date with another one, when I don' t even want to date anyone? " I went to the cafe to read since you were sleeping. Why don' t you wear the coral dress you bought the day we went shopping?" It was a very cute summer number, white corset type top with a high low coral skirt at the bottom with artistic patterns.

PYE' S P.O.V. 

Something was fishy...I texted Hak Yeon to let him know Jay was back, so that he got ready for the big meeting at 8 o' clock but the reply message from him made me wonder... 

[Okay, Leo came back like half an hour ago with a suspicious look on his face.] 

[And... ] 

[I bet he meets her already or that at least he saw Jayla.] 

[Didhe say anything?]

[... ]

"Would Jay not tell me if she met someone? Nah...we are as sticky as bubble gum ice cream, she wouldn't hide that from me nor would she? I certainly have been having my ice cream in other flavors lately."

JAY' S P.O.V.Pye busied herself changing her cloths and doing her hair, which reminded me that I really should get ready to meet my blind date. Let see if I can act interested for Pye' s sake or if he' d be worthy of the charade. 

"I headed into the shower floating on a pink cloud as the sun set in the sky and my mind was drunk on images of the mysterious guy from the cafe."
