Being One Of Them

Chapter VIII

"Luke" She said eyeing him, and immediately regretted it since he was naked, in a snap she covered her eyes "Oh oh, hahah Luke uhm hi" she said laughing awkwardly.

"what are you doing here?" Luke replied shocked and confused.

"Uhm... I-" before she could say anything a pack of werewolves were passing by and in an instinct Luke leaned in covering her "Don't move" he ordered.

Mia stood still not knowing what to do, she was in between Luke and the tree "If they smell you, you're dead" he added. Mia glanced at his broad shoulders and defined muscles. She didn't know what to do and started looking everywhere but Luke's chest; this went unnoticed by Luke, being too focused on protecting Mia.

After the coast was clear Luke looked down and locked eyes with Mia, for them it felt like minutes but actually it was a few seconds. Luke stepped backwards somewhat embarrassed and re-compose himself before talking "We have to get you outta here". Mia nodded in response, she tried walking but failed when she felt the pain on her ankle making her tumble, Luke saw what was happening and acted fast grabbing her before she hit the ground.

Mia laughed awkwardly "Yeah uhm I sprained my ankle trying to run away from you". She said shifting her glance away from him while scratching the side of her neck.

Luke sighed "Tell me where you live, I'll take you there", this made Mia panicked, she definitely knew she couldn't go back to her house in the middle of the night, her mom will get furious.

Mia nervously said "Uhm how about we go to your house?"

Luke lifted an eyebrow in confusion "And why not your house?". He wondered why Mia would want to go to his house.

Mia bit down her lip and looked down like a child being caught in the act of stealing candy "I told my mom I'd be at my friends house... for a sleepover".

"Are you serious?" He said in disbelief.

"I know I know, it's a long story, I'll explain to you once we get home" Mia told Luke. She actually didn't know who she was gonna explain to him, the idea of going out during a full moon to be in good terms with someone, sounds ridiculous, however there's no way she's getting out of those without explain why she was there.

"I'll take you to my house, it's not to far from here" he then added "It's faster if I transform" his eyes turning yellow after finishing his sentence. Luke had noticed that, while talking to Mia she kept avoiding eye contact considering that he was naked. Even though he didn't mind people seeing him bare-skinned he didn't want to keep making her uncomfortable. Most werewolves and Lycans don't mind being seen naked, they cannot grow another pair of clothes when transforming back into a human, in other cases some do care, so when converting back they tend to leave the area and go somewhere private where they can find clothes.

Mia saw in amazement and shocked how Luke was transforming in front of her. His back arched upwards and he started growing fur everywhere. His nails started getting sharper and his teeth bigger. In an instant, Luke was already transformed, he stood up and Mia looked up at him 'He must be at least 7"5' she thought (Around 2.26 meters). "Wait are you gonna tak-" She couldn't finish her sentence, Mia was lifted in the air and a pair of strong arms carried her bridal style. Mia let out a yelp as she was being carried around. Luke now transformed ran as fast as he could to get Mia outside of the forest. And in less than 2 minutes they reached Luke's house.

Luke gently let Mia down and let her walk in first, he then shifted back. "Oh so your house is connected to the forest that makes sense", she reached the porch and turned around, Luke grabbed the towel his sister dropped before transforming and wrapped it his torso 'Thanks god Jessica left the towel behind' Luke thought. Now that Mia got a good look at him, Luke was really fit, defined muscles, a broad back and almost marked abs, Mia being flustered turned around and made herself in; Luke trailed behind her.
