"Ouch, fuck!" My hair felt like it was being ripped off my head as I brushed through the knots. I blamed the stress. Ever since I've been here that's all I could do, never knowing when Noah's anger would take the best of him and have it lashed out on me.The mirrors in this house felt like nothing less than an enemy with it's refection constantly showing myself looking like a dead corps. Bloodshot eyes, pale skin and thinning body.
"Finally." I sighed. Now my hair felt somewhat soft, and I could sort of see some loos curls reviving in the ends. I put the brush down and gathered my hair into a high ponytail, just as I put my free hand down on the counter to grab the elastic there was a loud banging on the door making me drop my arm and unlock it.
"What?!" I yelled at Noah who was leaning on the bathroom frame with a cheeky smile.
"Watch your tone, sweetheart" He pushed himself back.
"Well... what do you want?" I asked, this time taking a calmer approach.
"I just..." He stepped inside the room "wanted to see you..." His hand now coming up to my face, curling a pice of my hair around his finger. "...see how you were doing."
I haven't seen him in several days. He's been pretty busy these past few weeks, something about business and warehouses. The only clues I get are from his late night phone calls that I sometimes eavesdrop on.
And to be honest, In the beginning
it was fine- I was fine, but then the silence started to take over. The voices in my head were the only things I could hear- all I could focus on. It was driving me insane, and all I wanted was for him to come back. But I wasn't about to let him know that."Im fine." I brushed his hand away and walked out towards my room. I grabbed a cream knit sweater and a pair of black skinny jeans. Laying them on the bed I started to change out of my old cloths.
Just as I finished buttoning up the jeans I grabbed my bra and clasped the back. All was quiet when without warning I suddenly halted my actions, hearing the door open.
fuck
Before I could even turn around I quickly grab the sweater and slipped it on.
"Ever heard of knocking." I said, fixing the cuffs of my sleeves.
"Why would I knock in my own house?" He let out a chuckle, making me roll my eyes.
"Don't roll your eyes at me." He muttered lowly, having me force out a carless, 'I'm sorry' and walk past him, but without fail, Noah had other plans when he abruptly grabbed me by the wrist, pulling me back in the room.
"I have a few more business deals to wrap up so I'll be leaving again tonight-"
"So?" I cut him off. Why is he telling me this?
Noah, glared at me. "And... you'll be coming with me. So pack enough for two days."
I scoffed. Not a chance, there is no way I'm going anywhere with him. "No."
"I wasn't asking." He seethes, pulling me in closer by my wrist so our faces almost touched.
The tension in the room suddenly felt thick enough to cut with a knife. Seconds passed and nether of us were making any movements.
"Let. me. go." I spoke, halting our intense staring
He kept his gaze, dropping my hand. His grip creating red markings that stung on my skin like fire.
"The car will be ready soon so don't waste any time." He said sternly right before walking away.

Its be half an hour and I just finished packing the last of my stuff. Zipping up the bag I tossed it on the bed and walked out the room and down the hall to hear Noah's frustrated voice talking on the phone. Coming a bit closer I watched him from afar with his furrowed brows and body pacing back and forth across the large living room.
Suddenly I was startled by the entrance door being harshly banged on. I watched Noah end his call and make his way towards it. After a few seconds I could hear some muffled noises making me curious enough to see what was going on down there.
"How long has it been, man?" Said a familiar voice.
"Too long." Noah, laughed. "How's it going?"
As soon as I reached the last step I could clearly see who was on the other side of the door. It was... Brett, Lisa's boyfriend, Brett.
"Pretty good actually, but watch this..." I noticed a sinister grin rising on Bretts face right before turning his head back outside to shout at someone. "Get the hell over here!"
My eyes widen at the sight of Lisa coming into frame. She had dark patchy bruises all over her arms and knees.
Oh my god
"Upstairs" Brett spat harshly, causing Lisa to let out a helpless whimper. My eyes followed her movements when she walked past him and accidentally tripped on the door step.
I gasped once I heard the loud slap of his hand against her face echo down the hall.
Thats it, I can't take this anymore. Without hesitation I ran up to her, pushing past Noah along the way.
"What the fuck is your problem?!" I screamed at Brett, while holding onto Lisa as we were both crouched on the floor. Brett gave me an angry look from above. "Keep your girl on a fucking leash." He hissed, now glaring at his friend.
I snapped my head at Noah, my attention now fully on him. "Noah, are you seriously just going to sit there and let him beat her up!?"
"Its not our concern." He spoke in an emotionless manner.
" 'Not our conce-?' she's my friend!" I was absolutely baffled at his words. How could he say that?
I quickly lifted Lisa and myself up off the ground, being careful of her injuries since I didn't want to hurt her anymore than this abusive pice of shit already had.
"Get your hands off her!" Brett yelled at me again only making my blood boil even more. There was no way I was letting her be near him, not for another second.
"Go to hell."
