i've seen a few power aus and I have to say, i do love them. this chapter includes all the lunch club boys (completely platonic), though if course not everything is not completely accurate. (this is a lot less of that poetic depressing vibe i went for last time, but i hope its still half way decent. its also a lot longer so yay story?)

lower case intended, !mention of drugs, sort of angst? w/ comfort!

as of two years ago, strange mutations in humans have been known and shunned in common society. occuring in only 5% of people, the government agreed to cease and arrest any being who may posses the power given through these mutantions, as it was considered dangerous and unconstitutional.

mutants, as they've so creativitly been named, feared for their lives as more and more rumors about experimention and inhumane treatments in the strongholds they were to be put in became confirmed. due to this fear and persecution, most went into hiding, be it in the plain sight or in inhabited environments where they can be themselves without fear of being caught.

being unlike humans they were insulted, looked down upon, and even found in under the radar drug rings to be gambled for and put into dog fights against each other. despite having no control over who did and didn't receive these powers, they were now largely considered menaces and tools. if you wanted to stay alive as a mutant, you had to be damn quiet.

slight problem was, carson was already a known streamer by the time of receiving his powers. when he found out that his friends, too, were mutants, he created an influencer house in hopes of them being able to protect one another. if even one member of the pact was found out, the others would fight for them till their last breath.

luckily they had alternatives, safe houses that not a lot of mutants were fortunate to have as an escape. schlatts past business partner, connor, shared a (admittedly shady) company with him when mutations began occuring. despite not being mutant himself, connor always supported his partner in crime as well as his associates.

if they ever found themselves in london, there were a number of streamers who would be able to keep them on the down low. and technoblade was.. well he was certainly an option. though the boys found themselves to be slightly terrified of the man, an option is an option.

still, the general consensus between the boys was simple; always be cautious. being put in the spotlight as influencers made the job all the harder, but as long as each member was always aware and weary they could remained undetected flawlessly. now though? well, they weren't in connors cozy studio apartment, nor were they in technos literal pig sty of a home. worse,

they were in la.

"the misfits are still busy right, not coming back for a while? i should call them- no i should wait for them. if i wait on the drive way then maybe-"

travis quickly interjected charlies anxious rambling and offered waiting by the window in the past time. taking his friends advice, charlie slowly morphed into a rather goo like state, molding himself from a green slob into the shape and color of a small house cat. despite it being merely an illusion, the very convincing looking feline slinked his way up the marbled windowsill, with the larger frame of travis' shiba form following him.

meanwhile, carson was on the phone with madi trying to explain how her boyfriend drugged himself and that he couldn't make it to dinner. much like humans, when mutants consume higher amounts of alcohol or drugs they have less control of their body, as well as their powers. the same tends to happen with high pressure emotions, like anxiety, which the situation was escalating by the idea of the misfits coming back to the estate.
