Chapter: 5
*****"I think it's time you head on home," Malin told his Alpha for the umpteenth time that night. "The full moon is tomorrow, you need to rest for that." He glanced at Aiden who sat motionless beside the Alpha. His eyes staring into nothing.
Leonardo couldn't believe Kawan had run off like that.
He thought he enjoyed what had happened between them.
They're mates after all.
He didn't wish to return to his bed at the moment so he just got on his feet and forced a thin smile.
"Where are you going?" Aiden spoke for the first time since they had felt their Alpha's painful howl and rushed over only to discover his mate had run off after nearly five hours of tryst.
"To the Spirits." Leonardo tucked both hands into his side pockets. "You both go home to your families, I promise to mind-link if I need any help."
Malin rolled his eyes at him. He never mind-links so that was a lie but he was the strongest and nothing gets through to him.
"Be careful and don't get drunk..." Aiden jokes. They never get drunk, they are Werewolves.
Leonardo stood in place for a few minutes watching his Betas shift and took off into the night.

He began his short walk to The Spirits, a seedy-looking bar. The Spirits was owned by a Vampire and most of the clientele is of the supernatural variety. Sure they get humans around on a regular basis but they had no idea. The front was covered in graffiti with two bouncers positioned at the front door. A strip club was by the left while a tattoo parlor was situated by the right. The Spirits was his favorite getaway spot.
Once the bouncers saw him, they nodded in acknowledgment and pushed the door open for him. When Leonardo entered he was assaulted by the scents of all the different beings in the bar. The owner, Benson, waved to him from behind the bar. He put out a frosty looking beer bottle on the bar and nodded his head at him. Leonardo threaded his way to him and retrieved the beer.
"Thanks, Ben." He whispered.
"What brings you out this fine evening?" Benson inquired, as he busied himself by cleaning a glass cup with a white towel.
"Something good happened but then it went away too soon." Benson laughed at the explanation. He nodded and moved down to put the glass away. Leonardo loved the man. They got along well and they would chat freely about most things. They had become good friends ever since he lost his family and moved to his Pack. Leonardo had accepted him and given him a portion of land and as well helped set the man up.
"Well, take whatever you need. It's on the house. Lots of freaks out tonight so I gotta work." Benson winked then disappeared into the other direction.
Leonardo spun around on the barstool, nursing his drink, and studied the people around him. He recognized a few Wolves gathered about in one booth. On his left, a bunch of vampires was hanging all over each other. A few humans were also spotted and he near laughed at the thought of them knowing that they were surrounded by all these beings. His eyes had just lifted to stare at the door when he saw him. The tempest he had collided with that morning.
"Mates." Thrift was at alert but cautious as Leonardo didn't want to do anything that might scare this one away too.
"Let's try not to send them running."
