The next day I stand outside the room where Morgana is to hear her punishment for helping the little druid boy. She didn't once attempt to throw Merlin and me to the wolves. Moments after the room fell silent, Morgana emerges sorrow etched into her beautiful face, and I'm instantly by her side, eager to hear what Morgana experienced.

"What happened?" I whisper. She is shaking, trying to catch her breath. "Let's get you to your bed chamber." I lead her to her room the entire time I'm silent, waiting for her to open up to me. We enter the room Merlin and Gwen are already waiting there. Everyone stands waiting to hear Morgana speak.

"I promised that I wouldn't let anything bad happen." She finally says, tears shining in her eyes.

"You can't blame yourself... you tried your best." Merlin offers.

"It's not enough."

"If Arthur wouldn't have brought guards I would have had a better handle on the situation. Why is he so stubborn." I say.

"He's in jail now. There's nothing more that we can do." Merlin puts down.

"I will not let him die." Morgana decrees. "Can I count on your help?" She looks at both Merlin and me. We glance at each other.

"Of course, you have my help." I offer a small smile, and Merlin nods his head no longer wanting a part in this anymore.

"Thank you." She begins to walk away.

"Where are you going?"

"To recruit someone I think can help."

"Arthur, you mean?" She nods her head in answer. "Let me come with you." I follow her.

She sits silently, waiting for Arthur while I stand to look around his room. A way to get to know him in any way that I can. I hear the door open as I am making my way back to Morgana.

"Make yourself at home." He says, removing his coat.

"You can't let your father execute the boy." She pleas. Arthur hasn't noticed me yet.

"You're lucky he's not executing you." He begins undoing his belt. "Are you really telling me he really was behind that screen?"

"Yes, he was." I say from behind him. He turns startled.

"Selene, what are you doing here?" Annoyance was written across his face.

"Morgana and I know you believe your father's wrong to execute that little boy."

"What I believe doesn't matter. My father has made up his mind. He won't be talked out of it." He picks up a goblet. "I tried."

"Then the time for talking is over." Morgana proclaims.

"Whatever you're thinking it's not going to happen."

"If you hadn't brought those guards last night he would already be out of Camelot!" I move behind him. "He deserves to be with his people."

"No, forget it."

"I can't believe you'd let an innocent child die." Morgana scoffs.

"It's too late, and he's been caught. I have no choice."

"Is this how you will rule when you are king? You're not like your father."

"I will not betray him."

"If I know you at all, you won't stand by and let this happen. Please, if you won't do this for the boy then do it for me." Arthur stands there silent for a moment before he turns back to face Morgana and me.
