Can't help falling in love with you

■●I love you and I'm sorry●■

I've been on about five dates with Stephan now. When I mean dates I mean going out somewhere that isn't the studio or his apartment where we spent half of our days. I know this is wrong, I'm going to get married and I'll have to tell him at some point but for now, I just want to live in the moment. He asked me on another date today. So I start getting ready by taking a shower.

After a shower, I start picking out my clothes. I chose a flowy navy blue dress that was above the knee with some high heel boots and a leather jacket. My long hair is a pain to work with so I normally dont do nothing to it, but this time I did some beach waves. I don't want to do anything to elegant, so for my makeup I just do the normal simple makeup but with some fake lashes. I was about to unlock the door when I hear the doorknob rattling. "Giselle why is your door locked" Chris asked as he kept on rattling the doorknob. I unlock and open the door and he just walks in. "Sure take a seat it not like I'm going out," I say in a sarcastic tone. "I came here to tell you te have to start looking for a new venue. The one we choose got closed down. When they were looking for August [ A drug kingpin that works with both my dads and Chris Mafia]. He was throwing his daughter's first communion when he got captured." He says dismissing what I just said about going out. "Ok" I say trying to speed this up "ok that's it?" "Well, what do you want me to say 'Oh my god I'm so devastated' is that the reaction you want from me" I say actually questioning him "Something not just 'ok' its like you don't even care" "Well I don't Chris I'm doing this for my dad, no one else and especially not for feeling." I say with a nonchalant tone. "Ok" he walks out of the room calm like but I can tell he's hurt.

After we go to the restaurant and have dinner Stephan tells me he has another surprise. He makes me close my eyes and hold his hand to guide me. When we stop moving I figured that we're at the place. I can hear kids laughing and what sounds like a roller coaster and the strong smell of popcorn and funnel cake fills the air. "Ok open your eyes" Stephan says with a big smile as I open my eyes. The flashing lights of all the rides are blinding, I want to go on all of them but there's one that I really want to get on the Ferris wheel. I didn't really get to go out as a kid and when I did it would be with my mom, brother, and guards surrounding us the whole time. So going to a fair or anywhere fun wasn't on the table.

We got on a bunch of rides and games like bumper cars, bowling, the funhouse, one that's like if you're on a glider, free fall, and so much funnel cake was consumed by both of us. There was music playing in the background on the speakers and the song that I related to most at the moment was "Don't stop me now" by Queens amazing band might I add. I wish I could have seen them when Freddie was still here with us. He truly is an amazing queen.

By this time it was really late but the fair was still open so we stayed even longer. We where at the ferris wheel for the tenth time at this point and we stopped right at the top. The sky was dark so the stars were out. "Its beautiful" I say looking at the stars and then to him " It sure is" Stephan say looking at me. That's when I heard it. "GISELLE" The voice of who said it echoed in my brain for a moment and I stiffened. Stephan must have noticed as cuz he asked if I was ok. I shake my head no "What's wrong" He says with a worried tone. "How did he know I was here. He couldn't have known no one goes near this side of town" I say while hyperventilating. "GISELLE WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP THERE AND WHO ARE YOU WITH" He asked. In his voice you can tell he was demanding and answer a tone I never heard from him. At this point the ferris wheel started to move again and the ride ended and I'm met by Chris and my brother. I'm shaking thinking so may things.

《What will he do. Will he call off the engagement. If so what will my father do. What are they doing together. Did my own brother rat me out. I'm dead》

The whole time Stephan was hugging me and Chris looked angrier and angrier by the second. "Giselle what are you doing here" my brother asked still not knowing what's happening. "I'll tell you what's she's doing she's out with who ever this is" Chris said trying not to burst in flames. "I-" "Hey buddy I dont know who you are but what are you babbling about and who even are you" Stephan cuts me off and said in a tone the same one Chris used when he called me from the ferris wheel. How about we let Giselle answer this" Chirs says looking at me. "Um..... Stephan this is Chris my fiance" I whisper the last part but apparently not quite enough cuz Stephan stops hugging me and steps back. "What?" The tone of disappointment and disbelief in his voice is heart breaking. "Say it louder Giselle" Chris says demandingly "ok dude she said it already dont pus-" Lucian stops talking when Chris just send that death glare his way. At this point Stephan just walked away and I chase after him "Stephan. STephan. STEPHAN. I love you and I'm sorry. You have to understand I don't-" he cuts me off " If you would have told me you loved me before I would have said ' I love you so much with my whole heart, but now I don't know how to respond to that. YOUR engaged for Pete's sake. ENGAGED. You broke my heart Giselle Elizabeth Violet in every way imaginable. I never knew someone could hurt me the way you just did. God, I was really thinking of making this official,I bought a promise ring and everything" he says as he reaches for something in his jacket. "I was gonna asked you to make me the happiest man in the world but now you've made me the saddest" he says as he throws the box with the ring on floor. "I don't want to see you ever again." And with that he walks away.

I don't know what to do the love of my life hates me now, Chris might call of the engagement, my dad is gonna murder me. By now I'm sobbing and just stand there for a few minutes until I stop crying.

I walk back to Chris and Lucian still sort of crying. Chris has his arms crossed over his chest while Lucian has one hand in the back of his neck. "Giselle what where you thinking" Chris asks me sounding a bit hurt. "I wasn't, everything was based on emotions. I wasn't thinking"I say. That's is all one hundred percent true. I wasn't thinking I was just in the moment not thinking about the consequences.

Chris left the conversation once I said that. So me and Lucian were left to talk. "Why did you do it?" He asks me knowing the answer already. "I fell in love but I didn't last. My stupid commitments ruined the one time I was truly happy." I say. I can feel my eyes welling up but I quickly suppress the feeling. "Did you really love him?" His question surprised me. "Of course I did I never knew what it felt like to be loved that way until I met him." By now I was crying again. Lucian just holds me in a hug and says" I know. It sucks that dad only uses us when he wants to. We're just some pawns in his game. A game he will loose one day and when that happens, we need to be there to take the game."
