those few words shattered his heart. geonhak could feel cracks forming and running across his heart. he should have seen it coming. taking a deep breath, he willed himself to take a step away from dongju, walking out of the storeroom and immersing himself in his work. just then, hwanwoong burst in to bring them out for lunch.

"yeah sure, you can get going with dongju first, ill join later."

geonhak told hwanwoong, keeping himself distracted, lest hwanwoong reads his emotions. once his ex-secretary and secretary left the room, he put down all his things and leaned back in his chair. sighing heavily he thought to himself, 'oh god, what did i just do. i was supposed to keep inc control of my emotions and urges, how could i do that...even more so confess to dongju..I'm so screwed ugh...'

knock knock

"yo hak, why are you still here? i thought woong dragged the both of yall- shit bro what happened?" youngjo entered the room immediately sensing the sour mood of his friend. "i messed up hyung. that's what it is." geonhak buried his face in his hands. "i couldn't keep my hands to myself and ended making out with dongju. then i confessed to him. but he rejected me. and now i feel like some pathetic boss trying to harass his secretary." youngjo took some time to absorb all the information geonhak just blurted out. "dongju is probably feeling flustered by your confession. its not every day when your boss tells you about his feelings." making a joke, youngjo hopes that geonhak's mood was lifted. geonhak just flashed a small smile and said "i just don't want to lose dongju hyung. i know it sounds weird but i really like him and you know I'm not that reckless."

"actually hak-ah, woong did some research and he told me something that i think you should know. he thinks the both of you are soulmates, just like me and woong. remember when you first met him during the interview? that was your inner wolf, wanting the comfort of your mate. i know its a lot of information to process but give it some time. for now, just focus on making your relationship with dongju better. hm?" youngjo patted geonhak's back and stood up from his seat, giving him sometime to digest the load of information.
