Eve’s POV
Pastel*Palettes Talent Agency

“All right, and done,” the talent agent said. “That’s it for today. Good work, girls!”

I sat down at a table with Chisato-san.
I opened a bottle of water and drank.
“You did well,” I told her.

“Oh, really?” she laughed. “You did well too, Eve-chan. You kept a straight face while everybody else was laughing at that one scene.”

“Was it supposed to be funny?” I asked.

“Um, maybe not to you. It’s a joke that you wouldn’t get,” Chisato-san said.

“Tell me, tell me, what’s the joke?” I kept asking.

“It was…” Chisato-san started.  “‘What is the best food to find in your fridge when you’re starving?’”

“Hmm, let’s see… gingerbread cookies?” I wondered.

“No… Nukazuke,” she said, chuckling.

I coughed, not laughing.
Nukazuke is the worst thing to ever grace this Earth. It’s a whole bunch of yuck. Preserved food and fermented vegetables? No, thanks.

“I can see why it wasn’t funny…” I responded.

“Fermented food isn’t all that good. I mean, look at natto. I got it as a gift once, and I gave it to my dog, Leon,” Chisato-san said.

I was about to say that you shouldn’t feed natto to dogs, but… whatever. Chisato-san knows dogs better than I do. I need to leave right now anyway.

“I’ve gotta leave now,” I told everyone. “Bye, Chisato-san, and the others…”

Huh? Where are the others? They just left?!

“Don’t you remember? They’re all busy. Hina-chan, Aya-chan, and Maya-chan had to do other stuff. As for me, I’m going grocery shopping.”

“You have fun, all right,” I told her. “This is one appointment I cannot miss!”

With that goodbye, I began my walk to another talent agency not too far from where I am now.
They personally asked me to audition for one of their roles. The lead role of the most anticipated classic movie of the week!

“Hah!” I made a pose with my hands, imitating holding my wooden sword. “This movie will be a box office hit!”

The Copper Samurai!
The most bad-to-the-bone superhero known to the residents of Edo period Tokyo!
Her identity must be kept a secret-- no man or woman must know their top crime fighter is actually a young girl!

And… that’s all I know. I’m about to learn more.
The other reason why I’m excited is because the supporting actor, the main villain, I adore with all my heart.

I don’t even know his real name, because he is only known by the public as ‘Tokugawa’. I could swear that’s a name for something else.

I realized I was lost in thought, and noticed I had already reached my destination.

Copper Samurai Talent Agency

As I walked inside, I was stopped by a boy wearing a samurai helmet that covered his face.

“You, hmm…” he stared at me closely. “Albino white hair, cute blue eyes…
Eve Wakamiya.”

He knows me? Who is this guy?

“Oh, sorry,” he apologized, taking off the helmet. “I’m what you people know as ‘Tokugawa’. Or you can just call me (Y/N).”

(Y/N)’s POV

Goodness.
This is so odd. My manager told me to keep up the ‘cool guy’ act, so as not to scare off any of the girls.
But on the inside, I am shaking.
Eve Wakamiya, standing right in front of me? Why’s she so calm?

“Ahem, so, follow me into the auditioning room. We’ll get started right away.” I led her to where we will audition her.

Eve stood in front of the director and paused. I stood to the side to watch. This should be interesting.

“Ahh, ahem! I am Eve Wakamiya! Pleased to-- I mean… it’s a pleasure, Mr. Director.”

“Likewise,” the director said. “You know what to do, I presume?”

“Sir!” Eve saluted, for some reason. Then she began.

“Hah! Take that, evildoer! Kick ‘em, slash ‘em! Poke them with the Samurai’s Hero’s Sword! No person can take on the Copper Samurai, the warrior of Edo Tokyo!”

She made silly remarks and actions as we watched. This is… quite something. What is even going on?

Eve’s POV

I’m acting like a total doofus… Tokugawa-- I mean, (Y/N)-- is watching me! Oh, I didn’t get the part. I know it…

“Okay, stop,” the director said. “You were… amazing!”

“H-huh? Really?” I said in surprise.

“Yeah! You totally nailed the ‘Copper Samurai’ thing! You’ll definitely be the new lead alongside (Y/N)!”

(Y/N) walked up to me and held his hand out.
“I’m looking forward to meeting you,” he said. “I got the part of the lead villain, the leader of the Evil Shogunate, the big bad Baku.”

I shook his hand, and smiled. “Same here! I look forward to acting with you.”

The Evil Shogunate? Him and Baku must be the Copper Samurai’s greatest villains!
Heh, what kind of name is ‘Baku’ anyway?

“We start filming next Monday,” the director said. “We’ve still got a few more people to cast. You both can head home.”

Well, that was a quick audition…
I could’ve asked Chisato-san for a ride. She does have a car she borrowed from a friend.

“Let’s walk home together,” (Y/N) offered. “You’re headed toward the park to the north, right?”

“Yep!” I agreed. “Right by the park. Let’s go!”

(Y/N) and I walked towards the park. There was an awkward silence between us as we walked. I didn’t know too much about him, so there wasn’t much to talk about.
I finally decided to break the ice and asked, “So, how’s the acting industry?”

“Good, I guess. I never had this much fun in a job.” (Y/N) replied, smiling. “How about you?”

“I love it! I even get to learn about the history of Japan and such!”

"Japan has an… avant-garde history," (Y/N) said. "That's why I want to be in the Copper Samurai movie."

I looked at (Y/N).
He's really different now. He's not the same guy back at the talent agency.

Was he pretending or something?
Oh, (Y/N)...

We reached my house, and I walked to my door.
I turned around, smiled, and waved back.

He waved back and left.
I look forward to seeing him again on Monday.

Suddenly, I got a text from Hina-san.
"Yo, Eve, text me back if you read this!"

Hm, I have no idea what she could mean.
"I read it. What's up?"

"Boppin' stuff. Well, Chisato's car was damaged. We're all okay, we walked home. She was like, 'Noooo, my Cresta!', it was funny."

Hina-san has quite an odd sense of humor… jeez.

"That's too bad. Hope she can fix it soon," I replied.

"Same here! Can't wait to see you at practice tomorrow!" she texted me back.

"Me too!" I texted back.

I laid on my bed and thought of (Y/N).
I really do want to see him again…

To Be Continued...

(A/N): Yes, Eve is our next girl! Actually, this was a request from people. Thanks for the suggestions!
I hope you all enjoy. This is the beginning of a new journey!
