Sunday night arrived, and Jeremy was practically bursting with excitement. Tonight was the night! He glanced at the clock, "T-time to get ready!’’ He springs up from his bed and to get dressed in his uniform, grabbing some black jeans, he puts them on, but once he lifts up the shirt to check, Jeremy sees that it was short sleeved.

He panicked, he ran to the bathroom and grabbed a roll of bandages to wrap his arms up to his shoulders. Once he was satisfied with his work, put on the uniform shirt, attach his badge, and tapped on his shoes. Jeremy notices the time.

“O-oh! I’ve gotta g-go! I wanna get t-there early so I can l-look around the o-office!” Jeremy races out of the bedroom.

Grabbing his phone, hat, and sketch book, Jeremy throws it in his bag and skips out the door.

When Jeremy walks through the door at 11:30, and he notices an employee on their phone leaning on a table , looking very bored. Looking around, Jeremy realises that the man is already done closing up. Jeremy glances at his badge and reads ‘mike’  He decides that this is the perfect opportunity to get some alone time, and make a good impression!

He stands there hitting his cheeks, trying to build up his confidence. ‘C-come on Jeremy! Just ask him! D-Don’t be stupid!’

Jeremy timidly shuffles over to distracted employee, and taps them on the shoulder. When they look up from their phone with an aggravated look and say “what do you want kid?” Mike didn't mean for it to come off like that, but his normal tone and resting bitch face don't really help him much. But Jeremy squeaked, holding his hands close to his chest.

“I- um...I was w-wondering if- um…i-.. i-if i could-” Jeremy began subconsciously scratches his wrists, looking at the floor. Mike notices this quickly drops his phone, and grabs his wrist restraining him, to keep him from continuing “Hey kid! Calm down I won’t bite. Boss told me you were jumpy, but I didn't think you were this jumpy!” Jeremy finally looks up at Mike and his eyes go wide.

Jeremy is tearing up and shaking, his face red from embarrassment. Mike let’s go of his wrists. ‘I’m such a crybaby! Why couldn’t I have just talked to him?!’ “imsosorryi-!” Mike cuts him off, knowing what was about to happen, after all the Boss ranted to him for half an hour about the small boy, telling Mike to watch out for “the spiral”, and that Jeremy is very fragile so be gentle.

“Hey, kid, calm down, just breathe” Mike states sternly, but with sincerity. Jeremy does just that…

But does it very quickly

At this point Jeremy is hyperventilating, gripping his shirt as hard as he could. Mike suddenly grabs Jeremy’s wrist again, pulling them off of his shirt and in front of him, “I meant, slowly.” Jeremy nods hesitantly. They start breathing, slowly.

After Mike is sure he’s okay, he lets go of Jeremy’s wrist. “Alright then, what did you want to ask me?” He asked as gently as he could.

“I-I noticed that you f-finished closing up and h-have no reason to stay. S-so I could take your p-place so you c-could go home, my shift dd-oesn't start for another hour a-anyway!” He said in a happy tone. Mike however was not convinced.

“I don’t think so Shorty, no offence but you have courage of a cream pie.” Mike said, smirking and raising an eyebrow. “H-hey!” Jeremy said, puffing his cheeks, while Mike just chuckled.
