I take a taxi to my first destination for today, "Graphic Magazine Corporation".
The thought of it makes me slightly quasy, since it's my dream company.
We reach there far too soon for my liking and I can't help but stare at the beauty that is the building.
The fake cough delivered by the taxi driver breaks me from my daydream and I pay him with a sheepish smile.

Once I work up the courage, and once I'm done drooling over the building, I walk inside, only to be greeted by even more beauty. It's not possible, but the interior seems even more regal looking than the glass building.

Taking slow steps towards the receptionist, I wait patiently for her to notice me.
While doing so, I notice her purple and blue highlights, and can't help but think of how well she is pulling off this look.
The girl seems to be focused on the designing of something and it takes her a bit of time to acknowledge me.
Taking on her appearance, I'm again reminded of the biggest reason as to why this is my dream company, the employees here have the freedom to be themselves, that's why the projects they're given are never similar. It's amazing.

The girl's voice snaps me out of my thoughts and it takes me a few moments to know that she is talking to me.
"Hi! I'm so sorry about the delay! But how may I help you?", She asks me with a polite smile.

"Oh! Uh hi! I um, I'm here for the interview? Um, w-with Mr. Marshall?", I stutter out, feeling embarrassed on how she caught me daydreaming.

She laughs, and points at one of the elevators.
"You must be the college student! Take that elevator to the third floor, the last room on the right. That's where the interviews are held! And I'm Lea, incase you need me! And all the best!"

"Thank you so much! I'm April!"
With a last smile, I enter the elevator and wait for it to reach the needed floor.

I try not to faint, the excitement feels too much to handle.
I feel like I could jump around, screaming on top my lungs, knowing I get to have an interview!
The dark thoughts start creeping up my mind, but I try not to think of it too much.
'The'll like my designs. I'm capable of working here. I deserve a place in here.' are some of the things I keep chanting to myself.

The elevator doors slide open and I'm left open mouthed. This floor is just so gorgeous.
Forcing myself to stay calm, I walk out and take the right turn for the room.
Once in front of the door, I take a deep breath and confidently knock on the door.

"Come in.", A deep, authoritative voice answers and I push open the door.

Once inside, I let my eyes wander around, taking in the spacious room before letting my eyes rest on the man sitting on the table.
Of I hadn't known his actual age, I would've mistaken him for a really young man. The sandy hair and the deep brown eyes are really entrancing. The simplicity in his clothes makes me feel comfortable.

The now 36 year old man stands up and silently asks me to take a seat.

"I'm here for the interview sir."

His eyes shine with recognition and he smiles.
"Ahh yes. You must be April, right?"

I nod, slightly confused on how he knows my name, but shrugging, I take the seat offered to me and place my portfolio in front of him.

But he makes no moves of opening it.
Instead, he starts talking.
" I don't need to see your portfolio April. I was present the day you had your presentation and I'm glad to say, I was deeply impressed by your ideas! I would've personally invited you for an interview if you hadn't already applied for it. We'vebeen closely following you on your social pages too, and I dying regret saying it, I'd love for you to be a part of this family of ours!"

It takes a few minutes to sink in, but when it does, I snap my head up towards him.
I want to ask him to say it again, but I don't, knowing full well on how stupid it'll sound.
It sounds too good to be true.
My dream company actually liking my works and give all the way out to even check me out on the social platforms.

On an off note, I try and think of any embarrassing thing I've done on my social medias in the past 2 weeks, and I'm deeply releaved to not be able to remember anything.

But before I can even say anything, he starts speaking again.

"But there's a slight problem. Even though we love your work, we don't have an empty spot for a graphic designer. We had to turn the others away, but you seemed like too much of an asset to turn you down too. We don't want to give up on you, and if you're okay with it, we'll love to give you the job once our new franchise is open in the next few months. So... What do you say?"

His hopeful voice couldn't raise my spirits though.
This was too much of a risk. I wasn't sure if they'll actually give me the job once their new franchise is up. And even if they did, I couldn't stay unemployed for so long! I didn't know how long it would take for this new franchise to open up.

"Uh..."

"Oh no no! You can take as much time as you need! I'm ready to wait!"

But shaking my head, I speak without thinking.
"Sir, I'd love to take up the offer."

His face breaks into a huge smile and he shakes my hand enthusiastically.
"I'm so glad! Welcome to the family! You can get all the information needed from Lea!"

I smile greatfully, and stand up.
" I can't wait to work with you sir."

" I can't either April."
With those final words, I close the door behind me.

I feel like I can finally breathe once I'm safely inside the elevators and I wipe off the sweat on my forehead.

I open my mouth to ask Lea about the information, but she beats me to it.

"Hey! Welcome to the family! I'll send you all the information you need, if only you could write your email address here...", I take the paper from her hands with a slight smile and write down the needed details.

I hand over the paper to Lea and start making my way out of the building.

'Working with Lea wouldbe really fun...'
With that contented thought, I start making my way towards my next destination.
