Jace started talking as soon as I fell into step with him.
"Basically, we're doing a little project. We're building a school forkids in middle school and we need to come up with a logo for it. That's where you come in. And the main thing is, Mr. Copper will personally be checking out the logo, so it has to be perfect."

"Oh okay Me. Jace.", I awkwardly stutter out while jotting down the points in my journal.
While doing so, we enter the meeting hall and Jace's voice makes me look up.

"Hello everyone! I'm here with April, our new graphic designer.", Jace says.

"Uh hi guys! I'm April Baker, and I hope I'll live up to your expectations.", Ugh, it sounds really formal, but what else can I say?

"Geez, are you always this uptight? I hope not!", Someone says, and a few people laugh at that, making me smile a bit.

Jace calls me over and we all settle down around the circular table.
Once everyone is comfortable, we start discussing the plan of action.
I realise that everyone has their own little jobs and that this project will be incomplete if any of us aren't here, making me feel really good about myself.
My job is to put everything together, and convert it into a PowerPoint presentation, basically making the project look so powerful and so amazing, no one can reject it.

- After the meeting -

I heave a sigh of relief as we all walk out of the room once the meeting is over.
Everyone starts moving in different directions, and I make my way towards the elevator, since my table's on the third floor.
I enter the elevator, too busy day dreaming about the fun I'll have with other creators that I almost end up ignoring the calls for me.

I turn around, and a speed waking Jace almost runs into me. "APRIL! Finally! I've been calling for you since we came out of the room. Anyways, I'm off to have lunch, mind joining me?", He says, slightly huffing.

I feel heat rising up to my neck, so I quickly nod, telling him I'll meet him in front of the cafeteria in 15 minutes.

He gives me a bright smile, and starts walking back to his office.
After five steps (yes, I counted, any problem?), he slightly turns his head, and says, "Great work back there.", before taking a turn and disappearing.

- Lunch time -

We're both seated in a tiny booth of a burger place.
We had met near the cafeteria, but once Jace realised they didn't have burgers, he dragged me here.
"I crave burgers today", was the only explanation.

But once we reached, I realised how hungry I was, leading to the scene right now.
I'm staring at the kitchen door with all my might, wishing it'll open and the lady will walk out holding my burger.

"You're really hungry, aren't you?", Jace says, trying to hide his smirk.

I feel the heat all over again, and I duck my face, letting my hair cover me.
"Is it that obvious? But you can't really blame me, it smells heavenly here!", I try to reply back.

He laughs out right at that. "I agree. I love this place. Their burgers are to die for!"
He slowly adds, "you're blushing."

Before I can reply though, his smirk morphs into a  serious expression and he says, "remember, you have to finish the presentation by tomorrow. Your work will be checked by Mr. Wentworth even though he doesn't usually go through the logos and stuff, he got turned down by some graphic designer in this college thing, which has had him in a bad mood. We'll be testing the waters when we present him our work."

I nod my head, and give him a confident smile. "I'll finish my work on time, you have nothing to worry- oooh! Our food is here!", I end up cutting myself off when our trays are set in front of us.
Jace laughs at me, shaking his head, and I feel myself smiling too.

We talk about random stuff after that, and once we're done, we go back to our office.

The day after that goes by in a flash, without even realising, I'm saying bye to all of my colleagues and walking out, keeping an eye open for my former interviewer. I don't find him anywhere, so I walk out, and hail a cab home.

Once home, I slowly slide my keys in and open the door, keeping quiet since it's all dark inside.
I walk into Nick's room, feeling guilty for not talking to him all day today, but it all vanishes as I notice the  said guy sleeping soundly.
I roll my eyes before going one to his windows and closing them, knowing he hates it and walk out, muttering a small "good night" under my breath.

Entering the kitchen, my eyes fall on the covered plate with a note sitting on it.
'𝙀𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙨. 𝘿𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙩𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙝.'

I laugh again and go inside my room, wanting to get comfortable. Once I'm changed into a nice and warm hoodie (which is obviously Nick's) and some soft shorts, I walk back out and finish my dinner.
After im done with dinner, i start to work on my presentation, it is quite a scary task to undertake since this is my first job right out of college, i feel like i have added pressure to form well.
Once done, I go back to my room and go through my nightly routines before crashing on my bed.

Tomorrow is a big day I thought, this presentation has to be shown to the CEO of the firm who will then decide if the graphic team can go on with the Project, as I swept into the hands of sleep i kept thinking,
I wonder what the CEO is like? Is he a good man? Will he approve of our Project? and why on earth does the surname Wentworth sound so familiar to me? Have heard his name anywhere before? with these thoughts i was lulled into the labyrinth of sleep.
