April's pov

Once I leave the beautiful building of the Graphic Magazine Corporation behind me, I start making my way to the next stop of mine, Wentworth Corporation.

Once I'm comfortably sitting inside a taxi, I start thinking of how important this interview is for me.
'You have to get this job April. Because if you don't, then what will you do?!'

Glancing at my watch, I quickly realise the fact that I won't be able to attend all of my interviews.
'It's 2 o' clock already, how did all the time fly by so quickly?'

You flinched at the sudden stopof the taxi and turned to face the concrete building that is the "Wentworth Corporation".

Taking a deep breath, I get out of the building without fumbling and pay the taxi driver with a smile.
"I guess you're here for an interview?", The driver asks.

I nod, confirming the answer.

"All the best for it kid. I'm sure you'll kill it!", He says before driving off.

I smile after the kind man and turn towards the building with renound confidence.

But it starts ebbing away slowly as I make my way towards the building with slowly turning unsure steps.

I enter the building, and the first thing/ being I notice is the high cheekboned, model looking, blonde female.

She's pulling off the beige top and a white pencil skirt so well, it makes my heart hurt.
'I'm definitely under dressed for this interview', I think as I make my way to the front.

"Hello! I'm April, I'm here for my interview with Mr. Jace?", I ask her enthusiastically.

Seeing her expression makes me falter. She has a judging look while she skims over my clothes before turning back to me.
Instantly, I know I won't be looking around for her help if I work here.

"5th floor. The elevator's on the right.", She says in a bored voice.
While passing by, I give her a tight lipped smile and enter the elevator.

It's completely empty when I enter, all the others filtering out before me.
I click on the number "5" and wait patiently (not) for it to reach it's destination.

Again, I think back on how important this interview is, and how I'm getting a headache from all of this already.
I sigh, wishing for the day to end already.

I also think back to Lea, how preppy and cute she was, and internally compare her to the blonde beauty of this company.
Just thinking about it makes me feel bad for not getting the job, and I almost turn back to go home, but I stop myself.

Once the elevator doors open, I force my brain to shut up and take a few calming breaths.
Once I'm able to smile without feeling like it looks awkward, I walk up the door and knock, smoothening the invisible creases on my clothes.

"Come in.", A deep voice is merely heard through the close doors, and I push them open slowly.

I walk into the room with steady steps when I realise that the said man is not looking at me.
Taking in the environment of the room, I deem it to be like any other modern office, the way you imagine it, huge glass windows, a cute little plant in a corner, shades of blacks and greys and whites adorn the room and a desk with two chairs in front of it sit.

"Hello sir. This is April. I'm here for my interview.", I say with a confident voice.

"Ahh okay. Come on, have a seat.", He says while waving an unfocused hand towards the seats in front of his desk. I sit and wait for him to look up from his laptop.

I can only see his mop of brown curly hair from where I sit, but it's clear his skin is a rich dark tone, and his features are sharp.

"You have a portfolio I can refer too?", He finally says, looking up, a smile playing at the corners of his lips.

I breath hitches as I take in his features. His smooth caramel skin looks even better now, and he has a chiseled jawline. His eyes are a dark brown that look almost black due to the lights. Over all, he looks like a piece of art.

"O-oh yeah! Y-yeah sure...", I say, bending down to bind my blush as I fish out the portfolio, taking a second or two extra than needed.

He laughs, and the sound of it fits really well with him. "Don't be so nervous! Chill out.", He says as he takes the portfolio from my hands.

"Nice... Hm... Good good... This could change a bit here though... No nevermind, it fits perfectly well with this... Ahh... Wow...", He mutters out while going through the folders.

"I loved it. You're joining from tomorrow. 7 am sharp.", He says casually, returning the portfolio to my limp arms.

"Uh... Nice joke sir...", I say, laughing in a confused way.

"Ahh please. I make better jokes than that. I'm not kidding. I loved your work, and honestly? We are in a desperate need for a graphic designer. You're the perfect match!", He says with a hint of amusement.

"Oh... Oh! Thank you so much! Yes, I'll be on time, I promise! And I'm not usually this awkward, I apologise!", I say while standing up from my seat.

"Trust me, it happens to the best of us.", He laughs.
"You'll get your work idea tomorrow, and I'll be there to guide you through everything.", His easy going smile has me smiling as well.

"Thank you once again sir.", With that, I start walking out of the office.

"Hey!", He says before I step out of the open door.

"Yes?", I reply back.

"The name's Jace. Stop calling me 'sir'. Makes me feel old!", With a last laugh from both the sides, the door closes.

The gravity of the situation doesn't hit me until I'm in the elevator, waiting for it to go down.
'i got the job... I got the job! I GOT THE JOB!'

Quickly, I fish out my phone from my bag and dial a number that's etched into my brain.
'pick up Nick. Pick up...'

As I wait for my man to pick up my call, the door opens and I walk out.

In front of me, I group of following behind a strong built man, and I roll my eyes at that.
I hate these kind of people... Always needing someone to fall behind them.

I pass by the blonde lady, and give her a smug smile, but she misses it as she's too busy staring at the man waking in the front.

I roll my eyes again as I leave the building, and just then a scream fills my ear.

"I GOT A FUCKING JOB!"

"I GOT A JOB TOO!", I scream out as I wave an arm for a taxi.

"PERFECT! Meet me at our usual place! We gotta celebrate!!!", And he hangs up as a taxi stops in front of me.

"The Hot- Dog Joint, please.", I say as I settle down, finally breathing properly.
