Back at home, the festive season was at full swing. Sarah and Adi uncle were busy packing things for takeaway to Granny's home. We usually spend our Christmas there. The party is lavish and it gives the real vibe of Merriness in air. In comparison Somaina is kind of let down from celebration prospective.

There were few neighbors present at home. I quickly paid my visit in the kitchen as soon as I entered the home, to let them know I am in the house.

"Mom, Dad I am back." I announced. Saying a few hellos here and heys there.

"Jane. Good. Nothing proper is there to eat. Will random food work?" Adi uncle asked.

"Yeah. It will be great. I will take them to my room." I gave a thumbs up to let him be relieved from taking care of anything with regard to me. He was hell busy with other works. Then I walked upto Sarah who was chatting with our neighbor. Okra's mom. Okra – the dog.

"Hello Aunty. Mom." I greeted, to get Sarah's attention for few moment. She turned around and excused herself for a minute.

"What is it Jane?" Sarah was calm. I have to take her into confidence to make sure she does not try to find me for next few hours.

"Um mom, there are lot of people here. I would be in my room for couple of hours, if there is nothing for me to do here. I feel heavy headed. I might take a nap." I buttered her politely.

"Did you eat something? Take some food along. Sleep, but get up by 9 pm, we are all having dinner together here with few of our neighbors. Just a small party from my side for Christmas. So I might need some help at that time." She dictated her words flatly.

"Sure. I would be down by 9." I was jumpy from inside so I paced towards kitchen, then turned around for final precaution, "Mom, I might be locking my door from inside, just in case." I looked at her, stopping my heart for a moment, till she nodded in affirmation. YEAH! I bought the time.

I quickly picked up the food that caught my eye, which included a very soft Pecan Pie Pound Pastry, mouthwatering Cranberry Brie Bites, some Roasted Red Potatoes, hot Bisquick Sausage Balls and a Stuffed Mushroom. I might pack myself with some fat for the long journey ahead. And with all that was present on the table I won't even mind having some extra layer. When I saw that nothing else remains to be tasted, I turned around balancing my two full plates carefully.

"Jane, you forgot to take Moscow Mule Punch which I prepared for you kids." He saw that my hands are not free enough to fit something else, and then my face that was ready for more things coming my way. So he suggested, "Okay, first go and keep that in your room till then I will pour some in glass for you. Should I add a croissant too? There are few left from morning." I nodded happily as I rushed out to come back again fast. How understanding and kind he is. It's lovely to have such people who help out during ultimate crises.

I came down hurriedly to take the remaining energy source from kitchen. I entered only to be greeted by the sight of the son of the very understanding father. Arjun was standing near the counter, a punch in his hand talking to Adi Uncle.

"Dad, you skipped vodka in drink, I guess." Arjun remarked

"I apparently didn't add knowingly Son." His father responded. Then both smiled suggestively at each other.
