Chapter 7 {I Want You Back}

Emma Claire knocks on my door and walks in.

"Mommy are you okay?" She asks climbing on to my bed.

I slide the magazines to the side and pull her on my lap.

"Yeah I'm fine sweetie." I say kissing her cheek.

"Good." She says.

Her eyes get caught on the magazine and she reaches for one near. I pull her back away from the magazines.

"NO!" She yelled at me, and reaches toward the magazine again.

"Emma Claire! Put it down!" I say trying to get it out of reach.

"No!" She fusses and picks up a magazine.

She gazes at it for a minute and asks "What does this say Mommy?"

I take a deep breath and say "It says The Truth Behind Niall."

It was one of the magazines I didn't pay much attention too, but I knew it had information. Information Emma Claire shouldn't know.

"Why is it talking about Niall? And why is his picture there?" She asked.

I figured it was time to tell her the truth, I couldn't keep it from her forever and she was bound to know one day.

"Emma Claire I have to tell you something serious." She nodded her head slowly still looking down at the magazine.

"Niall used to be in a very, very popular boy band, millions of girls loved him and his band, and I was one of those girls. Except I was much luckier. I went to go meet them and Niall seemed to like me and I liked him, and then we fell in love. Really in love, and then.... You came along..." I say to Emma Claire. She looks at be with her blue eyes, wide and curious.

"So...you and Niall were in love?" She asks.

"Yeah. We were." I say.

"Like in fairy tales?"

"Just like them."

"Oh." She says.

"Emma Claire, we were so in love we had you." I say smiling.

"Then why isn't he here?" She asks.

"Things happen..." I say. She sits there for a moment and plays with the magazine while she lets this all process through her head.

"Does that mean Niall is my daddy?" She asks finally.

"Yeah. He is." I say. She looks up at me in surprise.

"Really?" She asks.

"Really." I say.

"So I have a daddy?!?" She asks with excitement.

"Yup."

Emma Claire puts the magazine down and leaves my room. I sigh softly, not knowing if what I've done was good or bad choice. But all I knew is that I wanted to start over. I wanted Niall back. Badly.

Emma Claire then came in with her coloring book and colors.

"Mommy?" She asks softly.

"Yes, baby?"

"Can you help uncolor this?" She says opening up her coloring book to the page with the bear family. She crossed through the daddy bear and only colored the mommy and child. I felt a wrenching pain in my heart, something that I couldn't fix.

"How about we go get a new one?" I ask taking away her coloring book.

"Okay." She says.

"Okay Ill go get ready and then we can go to Wal Mart and get a new one."

"Okay, Mommy." She says and skips out of my room.

I fall back onto my pillow and pull out my phone. I go back through my texts and save Nialls number. Maybe it was time to forgive, and maybe I can do it right with Niall. Without pushing him. Because I wanted him back.
