I looked around me and saw beautiful pink and green details everywhere. The theme, I was just informed, was Enchanted Forest, and I couldn't be happier knowing that. Especially because I blended in super nicely, with my dress and all.
The stage where the band was playing is covered in faux vines that crept with little yellow and pink wild flowers. The ceiling was covered by a midnight indoor tent, the cloth slightly hanging. The little lights looked like the stars against the dark backdrop, and in the middle was a blue crystal chandelier that was just stunning, it looked reminiscent of the moon. I made sure to record all of this for the vlog.
Below, in every nook and corner, there were flowers on these white with gold marble vases, specifically roses. Mostly pink but there are pops of yellow and a few blue ones. Psyche headed to the vase closest to us and picked the only blue one in there, careful not to get caught.
I was about to scold her when she came back but when she did, she handed the flower to me.
'I'm not tolerating you, just this one time.'
She laughed, so I did too. The night was not too young anymore, it's been an hour I think, after the dance floor was open. And after that one song, which Psyche said the title was Fall from this Ben&Ben band which I immediately fell in love with, we never really got up from our table except that one time when Nash went out to get snacks and I joined him.
'Thanks for inviting us tonight, it's been wonderful.' I said to him. He nodded and thanked me back, said because of us, they didn't look like losers.
We talked a bit more about how Psyche and I are on a road trip and that we don't know where we are. They kept asking us if we really are strangers because they just couldn't believe it. But technically, we are. They kept rambling about how cool this all was.
The party's getting wilder as the time passed by. It seemed like the two guys were stuck on our table because of us, so I nudged Psyche and she appeared to be thinking the same thing as I am.
'Hey, it's uh, getting late out. I think we have to go.' Psyche said.
'Oh, you guys sure?' We nodded. 'Aight. Thanks again, I hope this isn't the last time we see each other.' Harry smiled at us and offered to accompany us outside. But we shook our head no and refused.
Psyche and I headed to the elevator and went straight to the car. Norman was fast asleep in the back seat so we quietly entered. Which was kind of useless because when she started the engine and drove away, still in our gown by the way; the badasses that we are, he is still unbothered. We definitely stan a sleepyhead cat.
'This is it then, huh? We're finally going home.' Psyche said quietly, her voice almost drained by the wind blowing as the car hit the unfamiliar road again, maybe for the last time but there's no way to tell.
I sighed at this, and leaned my head back to my seat. 'Finally going home,' I turned my head to my lap when I suddenly felt Psyche's hand gripped my thigh as she was driving. I looked at her and she was so focused on the road, I was practically quivering, but I guess she doesn't notice. My heart erratic, but there's this calm feeling undertone, that up until now I still don't understand. 'I don't want to yet.'
But as she drove further away from the hotel and as the night grew darker, my thoughts fleeted as I close my eyes and go to sleep. But before I completely go unconscious, I know I heard Psyche singing me a lullaby.
