I felt my phone ding as my da dropped me off at home. I walked in the apartment shutting the door and walked to my room and plopped on my bed opening the message.

-dinner.. tonight?

I went to my da's contact and texted him.

-Hey can I go to Lydia's tonight? She said she'll pick me up.

-sure sweetie. Have fun, tell Lydia to give you aspirin. Since she's a senior and skipping I guess it's fine :(

I went back to Brett's and called him.

"Hey?"

"Hey, if I knew you'd call... I don't know. What did he say?"

"He said no.. I'm sorry.." I tried my best to stay calm.

"How about tomorrow..?"

"I thought we were having it tonight?" I said in a confused voice.

"You said your dad said no?.." he sounds so confused.

"I was messing.. so when can you be here?"

"That's a dirty trick, I can be there in a few when ya send me your address.

"Okay." I sent it to him. "See you soon, Brett."

"See you soon Erzy." I laughed and hung up the phone. I went to my room and changed. Wait..

I laughed and rolled my eyes of course he did. I grabbed my long sleeve crop top with red lines on the sleeves and with the number 28 in red bold numbers. And I put on my favorite shorts and my necklace Ali gave me. It says, 'separated by distance never by heart' In-carved on the back, it's also a little silver heart.

I smiled and put my phone in my back pocket. I grabbed my bag and walked out my room. "Bye da." I kissed him on the cheek.. I didn't even know he was here. I got in the elevator and headed to the lobby. Once I was out I saw Mr. Walker our apartment dude. "If he ask you saw me in Lydia's car." He smiled and shook his head.

"Just like your sister." Usually I'd be upset.. but I'm proud to say that I'm like her.

"Someone has to be adventurous, I'll call if anything happens." He nodded his head and waved me bye. I saw Brett and got in the car. He was on his phone until I spoke. "Hi." He smiled and looked up. "What?" He was staring but not checking me out... more like my eyes.

"You look beautiful." I smiled and looked at my lap. He started the car and we began the journey to his house. By time we got to his house, it was dark a little after 9. "Here we are."
