Kazuma, Ayano, Ren, and their three new allies decided to spend the night at Ayano's house before heading off to fight the demon snakes. Kazuma had explained to their criminal allies that if they had tried to escape during the night, Kazuma would hunt them down, and they would spend the rest of their lives in jail. They all agreed they would stay. Ayano thought it would be a good idea to have them show their powers before they went to fight, in case they didn't have what takes to fight.

"Alright. I know we said we didn't have time, but we need you to show us your powers, just in case any of you can't fight. Who wants to go first?" Ayano watched them, but none of them raised their hands or spoke. "Alright. Niyumi, you start."

"Do I have to?" Niyumi glared at her.

"Oh good grief. I'll start." Yamari said. She walked over to the pond. Instantly, the water surrounded her and encased her body. It created an air bubble around her, then grew to a monstrous size, with Yamari in the center of it. It grew four arms, and two heads. It was like an enormous water hydra. Kazuma was impressed, and he nodded at Yamari. She quickly let all the water drain back into the pond.

"Impressive." Ren said.

"I guess I'll go next." Azaraki said. He walked to the clearing, the wind starting to pick up around him. When he was in the center of the clearing, a vast wind came down and picked him up.  It was so fierce, it almost knocked Ayano and Ren off their feet. Kazuma though, being a wind magic user himself, was used to the high winds and was unfazed, but happy at Azaraki's power.

"Great." Ayano said. "Alright Niyumi. Your turn."

"Fine." Niyumi walked to the same clearing Azaraki had shown off his powers to, then stood there for a minute while nothing happened. Ayano waited impatiently, but nothing happened.

"Well? Aren't you going to show us?" Ayano asked, irritated.

"I'm trying to think about what to blow up. Sheesh. Give me a minute." Niyumi looked around, finally settling down on a boulder about twenty yards away. He stared at it for a few seconds. "Watch the boulder." He told everyone else. After a few seconds, there was a flash in his eyes, and the boulder imploded on itself, waited a second, and then exploded into a hundred pieces.

"That was very impressive Niyumi." Ren said.

"I'm not done." Niyumi said. The pieces of debris of the rock floated above his head, shifting and shaping. Finally they shifted in the shape of a spear, which Niyumi shot out and hit another boulder with, destroying the other boulder.

"What exactly was that?" Ayano asked.

"You see, I'm able to look at any inanimate object, implode and explode it, then shift it and turn it into whatever I want. Pretty cool, huh?"

"Yes. That was great. I think you all are going to do fine. I think we may be able to defeat the snakes with ease." Ren sounded relieved.

"Don't count them out just yet. They are demon snakes we're talking about. They won't go down without a good fight. For now though, let's just go inside, rest, eat dinner, and get some sleep." Kazuma said.

"Dinner sounds sooo good. You guys don't know how long it's been since we've had a real dinner." Niyumi said, gesturing to his companions.

"Well, then let's give you guys a real dinner tonight." Ren said.

They ordered so much food that they could've fed an army. They ate it all too. Ayano was surprised. She knew he could eat a lot, but she had no idea a person could eat so much. She was simply astonished. When they had all finished, they cleaned up and went to bed.
