It was a new year. 2015 finally rolled around and brought myself what appeared to be a new chapter of my life. I had bought the house I had always desired and finally moved out of my apartment in Freiburg. The city life wasn't one I had enjoyed, with all the noise of passing cars and bystanders distracting me from my sleep. I had grown up with my mother and father in the outskirts of town, so I was used to the only noise being heard was the occasional rainfall against the roof. I didn't desire to leave my country home, but unfortunately work was sparse and I had to make the sacrifice to live in the city as I looked for an employer. But that was years ago. Ten to be exact. Now I am Twenty-nine and self employed with my own construction company. In addition, I met the girl of my dreams and purchased the house I dreamed of living in as a child. My headlights hit the demon and I panicked. I swerved away to miss hitting it and slammed on the breaks. I didn't know what I had just seen, but...it's face....was far from human. I got out and pulled my flashlight out shining the beam of light behind me.

"Hallo? da jemand?"
(Hello? Anyone there?)

I yelled out in German. To my paranoia, there was no one there.

Not a soul.

I scanned the sides of the road with my flashlight.

Nothing.

I carefully backed away slowly and got back into my car closing the door with a soft thud. I stared in my rear view mirror, waiting for something.

Nothing ever came.

I waited for 5 minutes, then slid the car into drive and kept traveling to my home. At the time I shook it off as simply being tired from packing, and drove all the way to my home without looking back...
