 Amanda’s P.O.V.

Kate and I were seated at a small blue table inside a Chinese restaurant. We had ordered a small plate for each of us with boiled vegetables. I loved vegetables, especially carrots. She sipped away at her drink.

“So tell me, anything exciting you gotta tell me?” she questioned. I smiled at her and nodded my head. I would tell her about that special, charming boy I met at that bar.

“Yes, I do. It’s about a guy, I met him not that long ago,” I told her, feeling my heart beat faster.

“OOOHH, Really? What’s this guy’s name?” she asked giving me a little push. Leave it to her to be pushy. “Is he cute? Does he have a nice smile? Oh, come on Amanda, tell me!” she basically shook me.

“Geez, relax Kate. His name is Harry, and yes, he has a charming smile. He is very cute, hot even. And he mostly smirks,” I told her daydreaming about him. “He also has amazing green eyes that you could get lost into,” I added with a sigh. Kate winked at me, giving me a big smirk.

“You are so into him Mandy,” she countered, twirling a piece of my hair. I pushed her hand away. She was right; I was already falling for Harry. The rest of the time we spent talking about how I met him at the bar, and how we went “star gazing”.

“From what you’re telling me, he seems like a great guy, not to mention his physique,” she teased.

“Yes, he is. Oh, and guess what? He wants to meet up with me today at 5 pm!” I told her excitedly. She screamed in delight and got up quickly. “Then what are we waiting for?!” It’s already 4!” she half yelled. We threw our trash away and made it to her car. This girl was going to make a big deal out of it.

When we arrived at my place, Kate pulled me upstairs to my room. “Sit,” she ordered, pointing to my bed. I obliged, because she was like my mother. Or worst.

“Now let’s see, what about a dress for that special date?” she cheerfully asked, looking at me and opening my closet door. She skimmed through all my dresses, picking out a beautiful blue dress. I really liked it. It wasn’t fancy; it was simply pretty with a bow on the side. “Go try that on,” she said, handing me the dress.

“Ugh Kate, this is not a date with Harry. He said we would be hanging out,” I emphasized for her. Kate looked at me and scowled.

“Girl, you always have to be looking great in front of him, or else, how will he fall for you?” she asked pushing me inside the restroom. Oh God, but did I really want Harry to fall for me?

“Kate, I never said I wanted him to like me back. Besides, I doubt he will” I argued. She stopped pushing me and looked me dead serious. “Listen here, Mandy, you’re a gorgeous girl, why wouldn’t he like you?” she stated as if it was the most obvious thing ever.
