Requested by: AuthorKwonWooWooAttending an all girls school was not fun for Jane, she was surrounded by girls all the time. Being surrounded by girls all the time meant she compared herself to them a lot. No matter how many girls complimented her or flirted with her, Jane felt like she wasn't as pretty as them. It wasn't even about looks at times, it was also about academics and social life. Jane felt like she'd never be as good as her classmates, she felt like the weakest link amongst everyone.
Then Audrey came into the scene, the human embodiment of perfection. All the girls wanted to be her, and wanted to be with her.
Audrey was beautiful, smart and talented. A triple threat. Jane wasn't just jealous of the girl, but she was both intimidated and attracted to her as well. Sometimes Jane didn't know whether she wanted to be her or be with her. At the end of the day she decided on the former.
No one was sure if Audrey was into girls, and if she was, Jane felt like she'd be the last person Audrey would choose.
That was until Audrey walked up to Jane and spoke to her.
"Hey, it's Jane, right? I'm Audrey!" Jane's eyes widened in panic, her gaze quickly fixating on the floor as she felt herself becoming small under Audrey's stare.
"Um, yeah. That's me," Audrey smiled, though Jane couldn't really tell from where she was looking. "Awesome! Well, I was wondering if you wanted to come to my dorm after class? I need a model for my art project, and you're like prettiest girl I've ever seen. So I was hoping you'd be my model?"
Jane squeaked, a blush spreading across her cheeks and reaching her ears.
"I-I..." Jane didn't know what to say, the prettiest girl on earth was saying she the prettiest girl she's ever seen? Before Jane could say no, Audrey lifted Jane's chin up and brought their faces closer together.
"Pretty please, with a cherry on top?"
Jane felt herself melting under Audrey's gaze and touch.
"Of course, happy to help."
So that's how the two girls became friends, Jane started modeling for Audrey's projects which meant they spent a lot of time together. Jane felt silly, she was modeling! Something she was told only pretty girls did, something she didn't think she was. Audrey though, she was always telling her how pretty and beautiful she was. She would pinch Jane's cheeks, tease her about how much she blushed and called it adorable.
Jane found herself falling deeper for Audrey, and could you blame her? Audrey made her feel special, but Jane knew Audrey would never feel the same.
Or so she thought.
"So you're going back home to Pennsylvania, that's only a train ride away... Hopefully I can come and see you, I hear the weather there during winter is beautiful." Jane quirked an eyebrow at Audrey's words, the two were currently in Jane's dorm as she packed up her suitcase.
"First of all, spending winter break in New York sounds so much better than Pennsylvania. And second of all, we can just face-time. I wouldn't want you to miss the chance to be with your family, I'm sure they miss you and want to spend some nice quality time with you." Audrey shook her head.
"Eh it's alright, and my family wouldn't care if I left. We're a big family, they won't even notice I'm gone. Also, face time wouldn't do us justice. I need to see your beautiful face in person, be able to see and be near you." Jane quickly looked away so Audrey couldn't see the blush forming on her cheeks, though she's seen it many times before.
